Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 09/02

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Adverse weather conditions washed away a couple of key events yesterday, though our spirits haven’t been dampened and Friday’s race cards at Wolverhampton, Kempton, Dundalk and Chelmsford all have the potential to deliver more winners ahead of the weekend.

Below, we’ve assembled yet another collection of free horse racing betting tips, all of which have been expertly researched. Keep reading to view our latest horse racing predictions.

Best Tip #1: First Lord De Cuet – Kempton 3.40

10-year-old First Lord De Cuet is a former point-to-point winner and though he has yet to land a first over rules fences, he has finished second on six occasions in similar events and he is taken to finally go one better at Kempton.

First Lord De Cuet finished as runner up in a Class 3 Novice Chase Handicap at Market Rasen last month and he is due to go up 2lb when marks are revised soon. Well warmed up, he should enjoy running the same 3m distance today

Elsewhere, Iconic Muddle holds interest after his second-place trip at Wincanton on January 6th. The 11-year-old veteran steps up in distance to 3m for the first time here, which explains the length of his ante-post prices on the best betting apps UK, however, he could surprise.

Highstakesplayer meanwhile, returns for the first time since November 2022. He won four races in five before putting his hooves up and deserves respect.

Best Tip #2:  Reverberation – Chelmsford 5.15

Reverberation has exceeded expectations to win two races from four since switching stables and both of those victories were secured at Chelmsford in Class 6 runs over 1m and 1m 2f.

A return to that circuit today should suit the 9-year-old under Eireann Cagney – who rode to win on the same horse at Chelmsford before. A 3lb increase should be manageable and the fairly-treated favourite could deliver the goods again.

Alice Ketty could be a useful alternative at a bigger price. She failed to impress in recent runs at Wolverhampton, however, a 6lb drop is significant as is the booking of jockey Simon Walker.

Escobedo could be a mover from the outside stall with cheekpieces back on and his success over hurdles at Sedgefield last October gives food for thought.

Best Roughie: Leabaland – Dundalk 6.00

Leabaland was beaten by just a nose hair on his last trip at Dundalk in December over the same 1m distance and preference is for the 7-year-old to finish on the right side of any slender margins today.

There is a 3lb rise to factor in, though that increase shouldn’t be too much of an anchor. Leabaland has won three times from 1m to 1m f previous and will fancy his chances again here.

Hurricane Helen, who has been garnering attention on other horse racing betting sites, is expected to offer resistance after winning at Dundalk on December 8th, though her 6lb rise could have an impact there.

Eighty Eight has plenty of track experience having run at Dundalk in his last four races. There is also a 4lb rise to contend with there, though the increased distance could suit his skill set.

Stats and Insights

  • Chelmsford is a circuit for the gallopers with several wide-open bends and two straights of around a furlong each to power through. There isn’t much of a draw bias to factor into selections, though it’s worth noting that trainer Mark Johnston has had plenty of winners here.
  • As one of the flattest runs in the UK, Kempton can often suit the rapid runners, while stamina doesn’t come into play quite as much as it does elsewhere. The right-handed track covers a mile and five furlongs and draw bias isn’t an issue.
  • Dundalk has a knack for producing close finishes to the fairness and flatness of the track there. With an early bend to consider, horses drawn low can have an edge. In addition, horses with experience running on Dundalk’s Polytrack surface sometimes enjoy an advantage.
