Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 08/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Tuesday’s race card is packed with potential profit and features meetings at Brighton, Huntingdon, Leicester, Southwell and Galway across the UK and Ireland. As per the usual run of things, we’ve worked overtime to bring you three prime horse racing betting tips for the day’s action at the track. Check them out below.

Best Tip #1:  Anyway – Galway, 16:15

Anyway has a bit to prove at Galway today in good company, though he has been a consistent sort in 2024 and could have an impact.

A winner over hurdles at Cork in May and Killarney in August, the 6-year-old brings some pedigree to the table and though he fell when last at Galway in July, an improved performance looks possible here.

Elsewhere, Gordon Elliott’s Will Do looks like a top prospect and is currently the ante-post leader on other betting sites for horse racing.

A previous winner of two hurdle races and a bumper, the 7-year-old was fourth in a Listed event at Punchestown last time out in May and a repeat of that performance should put him in the frame again today.

Best Tip #2: Fighting Poet – Brighton, 16:10

Fighting Poet has been doing all of his racing at Brighton of late and the 6-year-old has lodged some promising displays on the south coast, winning two out of three appearances at the circuit and finishing third in between.

He drops slightly back in trip today, though he justified favouritism last month and has a chance to do the same here.

Gallimimus meanwhile, is another contender with plenty of track experience at Brighton. Though he finished a full 7l behind Fighting Poet at Brighton in mid-September, Gallimimus managed to beat all to win at the same course earlier the same month, so expect him to be in the shake-up on his return.

Little Tiger, who won at Leicester in July over a similar distance, is another name for shortlists.

Best Roughie: Beautiful Crown – Southwell, 20:30

Jack Jones’s charge, Beautiful Crown, made all to win at Chelmsford over 1m 2f in August and though he failed to follow up, runs to third, fourth and third again in subsequent efforts represented a solid return.

With that form acting as a guide, the 6-year-old could have what it takes to launch a bold bid at Southwell off an outsider’s price on betting apps in the UK.

Punters looking for a safer horse to back might be interested in Hunters Run, however.

The 3-year-old has been making excellent strides since moving up in trip as evidenced by his back-to-back wins at Lingfield and Kempton in September over 1m 2f and 1m 3f respectively. He is set to run further again today and another dynamic display is anticipated.

Stats and Insights

  • The course at Galway is an undulating setting with some tricky turns to navigate, so agility can be a useful trait to have there. Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott have been the most dominant trainers at Galway over the last five seasons.
  • Brighton is another undulating track with sharp bends, so gallopers with longer strides can often be the ones to avoid. With 51 wins over the last five flat seasons at Brighton, Tony Carroll has been the most successful trainer at the course by a distance.
  • The Fibresand surface at Southwell tends to put an emphasis on stamina, so the fittest horses tend to earn the nod there. Trainer Michael Appleby has been the king of the AW racing at Southwell over the last five seasons, earning an unmatched 77 wins there over that period.
