Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 08/05

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

We have meetings across the UK and Ireland at Chester, Fontwell, Kelso, Kempton and Gowran Park to get us over the hump day and Wednesday’s race card line-up is positively shimmering with the potential for profit. Check out our latest horse racing betting tips for the day’s action below.

Best Tip #1:  Dancing Tango – Gowran Park, 18:20

Versatile performer Dancing Tango signed off in October in style with a win over 1m 4f in a Listed race at Naas in October and despite being tongue-tied since, she could return to the fold with another victory here.

The step up in trip shouldn’t be a problem and Dancing Tango has already shown before that she can get the hop on stablemate Perfect Portrait, who she faces again today.

Enfranchise meanwhile, could be an alternative to track with interest on the best betting sites for horse racing. Decent success was secured in a couple of races in Galway last season and she competed well against Perfect Portrait among others when finishing second at that track over 1m 4f in September. Vischio is another contender with decent each-way credentials.

Best Tip #2: Kings Merchant – Chester, 14:35

Kings Merchant finally cracked the code to win at Wolverhampton over 5f in a Class 4 Maiden in late March having hit the post and come second in three out of four races before that.

The re-booking of jockey Oisin Murphy here should make a difference, while Kings Merchant also landed the best draw for today’s race in stall one and with favourable circumstances to enjoy, he could score again.

Elsewhere, Vince L’Amour descends on Chester with a new mark and successive recent wins, and the 3-year-old has the oomph to be thereabouts again today. Wins at Ripon and Catterick last month were well received and though he pops up a grade at Chester, he could be involved.

Blue Storm, who won at Southwell when last seen, could be another open to progression.

Best Roughie: Chola Empire – Kempton, 19:30

Chola Empire showed up well on his last appearance at Southwell on March 26th and won with a bit to spare. Today’s race at Kempton is over the same trip and against a similar field of competitors, and a 4lb increase shouldn’t be enough to tame him.

Chola Empire has run three times this year and a record of 2-2-1 highlights his strong overall form.

Richard Spencer’s Giant has been topping the markets on sports betting apps in the ante-post shake-up, however. The 4-year-old has two wins and two second-placed efforts from four outings over 7f on Polytrack, and Giant could set the standard again here.

Further improvement is also expected from former Kempton winner, Surrey Noir.

Stats and Insights

  • The circuit at Gowran Park is a galloping track in nature and horses competing there need stamina to be involved, especially with an uphill finish to conquer. Jockeys WJ Lee and Shane Foley have posted three wins at Gowran Park this term, though the new season has only just kicked into gear there.
  • Chester is a little over a mile long making it one of the smaller trackers on the UK circuit. It can seem like horses are constantly on the turn there, so agility is a must. Trainers Hugo Palmer and Andrew Balding have enjoyed ten and eight wins respectively at Chester so far this season.
  • Speed is the name of the game at Kempton due to the flat, fair nature of the course there. The new season at Kempton is still in its early exchanges, though prolific trainer Fergal O’Brien has already put a marker down, winning two of his first three races there.
