Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 08/03

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Horse racing aficionados have five meetings to enjoy on Friday with events scheduled across the UK and Ireland at Ayr, Exeter, Leicester, Newcastle and Dundalk across a busy day of action. Yesterday, we delivered a 9/2 winner when Rabinal won at Lingfield, while one of our other two selections placed at Carlisle when O’Connell was a runner up. Today, we like our chances of producing more profit for our readers and you can jump straight into our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Weaver’s Answer – Ayr 3.00

Weaver’s Account delivered the goods in style at Plumpton last month when he won by a whopping 17l ahead of the rest and a follow-up victory could be in the works at Ayr.

The 6-year-old wore cheek pieces for the first time over that 3m 1f trip which seemed to have a major effect. He is 5lb ahead of the handicapper and under a 7lb penalty here and deserves buckets of respect in the third race at Ayr.

Weaver’s Answer, who has featured readily on horse racing betting sites uk, will probably have to see off Follow Charlie to succeed. He only managed to land in fourth at Newcastle in his last outing, though that was a Class 4 race over a shorter distance and the drop down in grade and longer trip should suit him more today.

Indeed, Follow Charlie won a Handicap Hurdle test on his last visit to Ayr on January 2nd and should compete again here.

Best Tip #2:  Bobbi’s Beauty – Leicester 3.20

Bobbi’s Beauty, who is a savvy operator on heavy ground, won on her chasing debut over C&D just ten days ago at Leicester, making the 6-year-old the go-to runner on her return to the same circuit today. She has a 7lb increase to handle, however, Sean Bowen is the jockey again, and they worked well together to run clear to first over the same trip at the end of last month.

With the rest of the field looking decidedly beatable, Bobbi’s Beauty is the one to back here.

Promising alternatives included Jack Doyen, who got off the mark over fences a year ago at Warwick. Progress has been slow since, however, there was some promise in a third-placed effort at Leicester last month and the drop back in trip could be of benefit today.

Nine Nine Nine meanwhile, is a previous winner at Leicester, and the 7-year-old might surprise if things click again later on.

Best Roughie: Ferrybank – Dundalk 5.45

There is lots to like about Ferrybank, who runs in familiar territory at Dundalk today. The 6-year-old won well at the track from a career-low rating in January over the same distance and further progress is anticipated.

A 7lb hike could be a factor as could his wide draw, however, the trip and track combo should suit him again and he should be right in the mix again.

The obvious threat comes from favourite Pascalia, who has been heavily backed on the best betting apps across the UK in the ante-post melee. The 4-year-old saw off the experienced Bucky Larson to win over 7f at Dundalk on February 23rd and a rematch against the same rival today should make for interesting viewing.

Buck Larson is a Dundalk regular and three-time course winner and also has a realistic chance to make an impact.

Stats and Insights

  • Ayr is a left-handed run with sweeping bends that sprinting types tend to enjoy. There is a downhill tilt near the end of the track that quickly transforms into an uphill surge to finish. Speed can come into play again there. Trainers Keith Dalgleish and Nicky Richards have enjoyed success at Ayr, so look out for any entries from their stables.
  • The track at Leicester is oval-shaped and right-handed, and runs for around a mile and six furlongs. Stamina is the buzzword at Leicester as conditions can be testing there, as can the undulations. The jumps can also be a challenge and horses with a more confident spring can excel.
  • Dundalk has a reputation for producing nail-biting finishes and close-run things due to the fairness and flatness of the track there, while horses drawn low can enjoy a slight edge over the rest. Dundalk employs a Polytrack surface, so previous experience there can often be significant.
