Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 07/07

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Sunday’s race card line up features events across the UK and Ireland at Ayr, Chelmsford, Market Rasen, Limerick and Sligo, giving us ample opportunity to cap the weekend with another profitable venture.  Yesterday, two of our three selections placed, so we’re targeting an improvement here. Check out our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Instant Tendance – Sligo, 14:35

Gordon Elliott’s Instant Tendance has been doing a decent amount of damage since the spring and she won with room to spare when last seen over 2m 3f at Kilbeggan.

Running off the same mark today, she could take some beating again as she chases her third win since March. All her racing his year has been done over this distance and with familiar face Kevin Sexton in the saddle, she is taken to deliver again.

Elsewhere, Jumping Susie could be worth a market check on betting sites for horse racing. She placed in four separate races in the first half of the previous season, though her first appearance of 2024 returned a win at Tramore.

Today’s distance is a little shorter than she’d like, though she has the ability to put herself in the frame.

Best Tip #2: Pol Roger – Ayr, 16:45

Pol Roger takes excellent form into today’s penultimate race at Ayr and though he is up 4lb in the ratings for his latest effort, he should still feature prominently in your thinking.

The 4-year-old won back-to-back races over C&D at Ayr in May and produced another solid run to second in a field of 16 at York most recently. If his form holds, he should be thereabouts once more.

Own Accord meanwhile, steps up in distance today, though plenty of optimism about her chances remains. She won twice on the bounce over 7f and 1m at Wetherby in her last two events and though there is a 5lb rise to consider, that might not be enough to slow her down.

Sir Mark Prescott’s Born Ruler, who has gone close in three of his last four outings, is also on the shortlist.

Best Roughie: Barrier – Limerick, 17:15

The late Limerick Handicap is shaping up to be a competitive venture, though Gordon Elliott’s Barrier has potential to unleash behind the favourites this evening. She scored a maiden hurdle win in Tramore back in late April before posting another win at Gowran Park shortly after.

Keithen Kennedy was in the saddle that day and he rides again here. She can be sluggish to break, though she is capable of big things and she is worth sticking with.

Killeemore Lad has been enjoying top billing on betting apps in the ante-post shuffle. The 6-year-old looked the part when winning with a buffer at Limerick on June 12th and while a 9lb rise asks questions, he is likely to feature near the front.

Curious Bride, who finished second behind Killeemore Lad at Limerick last month, is another likely contender, especially after the booking of Colin Keane.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Sligo is right-handed and has sharp bends and tricky undulations. Races there finish with an uphill final surge. Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott, John Patrick Ryan, Gavin Cromwell and Paul W Flynn have all enjoyed multiple wins at Sligo over the last five seasons.
  • The circuit at Ayr features sweeping bends and a lengthy downhill push to the home bend before an uphill sprint to the post. Jockeys Paul Mulrennan, Joe Fanning, Andrew Mullen and Jason Hart are all in action at Ayr today and all four have tasted victory more than once at Ayr before.
  • There is a steep enough back straight at Limerick that can allow horses to make up ground late on, so we like our selections to be in a good position near the front towards the finish. Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott and Henry De Bromhead are usually the trainers to watch out for at Limerick.
