Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 06/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Meetings across the UK and Ireland at Chepstow, Kempton, Musselburgh, Nottingham and Dundalk combine to fill up Wednesday’s race card, giving punters another exciting day’s racing to look forward to.

Yesterday, we maintained our tipping hot streak thanks to The Mediator’s win at Fairyhouse and we’re determined to prolong our momentum today. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Jurancon – Chepstow, 13:20

Jurancon was a reliable point and bumper performer last winter/spring and counted wins at Chepstow and Hereford during a successful campaign before putting his feet up in March.

He returned to make his hurdling debut in October and caught the eye despite eventually finishing second at Worcester in a Class 3 event. David Pipe’s charge drops down a grade today and is backed to go one better here.

Fergal O’Brien’s Tripoli Flyer could ask some questions of Jurancon, however. The 5-year-old finished second when last seen at Aintree in a Class 1 National Hunt Flat outing and he is shaping up like a potential gunslingerover fences.

He has a bit to prove in this different niche, however, he is worth tracking on the best horse racing betting sites regardless.

Best Tip #2: Reel Her In – Musselburgh, 15:42

Reel Her In is hattrick hunting today having won back-to-back races here at Musselburgh in October.

The in-form filly looked the part when winning over a trip of 2m in a Class 5 Handicap race when last seen and dropping down in grade and back in distance today, the 4-year-old is oozing with race-winning potential again. She has been inched up just 2lb in the ratings and should set the standard.

Elsewhere, William Haggas’s Molten Sea is another runner with promise. He won on his last visit to Musselburgh in September and though he failed to follow up at Southwell (6th) and Catterick (2nd), a return to the scene of his last triumph could bring the best out of this 3-year-old, who represents a yard that holds a fine record at this circuit.

Best Roughie: Lettuce Leaf – Nottingham, 13:43

A chance is taken on Lettuce Leaf in the third race of the day at Nottingham. The lightly-raced 3-year-old was far from disgraced in runs to third and second at Redcar and Pontefract over distances of 5m in the summer and though today’s challenge is stiffer, she could have enough in her locker to pose a threat, especially as an each-way option on betting apps.

Marching Mac, who has been in searing form since the summer, could be the one to beat, however. A winner in four of his last five races, the 3-year-old has been hitting all the right notes for Phil McEntee and another bold bid is expected today.

Marching Mac won on his last visit to Nottingham on October 16th and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see an encore.

Stats and Insights

  • Chepstow can be a tough track to conquer and the pronounced undulations there can impact the flow of galloping horses. Paul Nicholls has been the most successful trainer in jump races at Chepstow over the last five seasons, notching an unrivalled 57 wins during that period.
  • With tight turns and a sharp setting overall, more agile horses can often be the ones to back on race day at Musselburgh. Trainers Jim Goldie, Keith Dalgleish, Iain Jardine, KR Burke and Tim Easterby all have good recent records at Musselburgh.
  • Nottingham is a fair setting in the main, however, shorter races tend to favour higher drawn horses, so factor that draw bias in when selecting horses. Michael Appleby, Ralph Beckett, William Haggas, Roger Varian and KR Burke are the trainers to watch out for at Nottingham.
