Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 06/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Thursday’s race card line-up features exciting events across the UK and Ireland at Chelmsford, Hamilton, Haydock, Uttoxeter and Leopardstown, and with five meetings to plot through, there should be some more tasty profit on offer. Yesterday, we landed yet another winner when Saturn delivered the goods at The Curragh while another of our three tips placed (Cat Ninja, Kempton). Below, you can dive into our latest horse racing betting tips.

Best Tip #1:  Glor Tire – Leopardstown, 19:30

Glor Tire has been in the thick of the action of late and success has been plentiful. The 3-year-old won back-to-back races at Gowran Park in her last two outings and though the last of her victories was achieved just three days ago, she should be a major player again today.

There is a 7lb penalty to overcome, though jockey Gabriella Hill rides with a 10lb claimer, which should level things out.

Not Forgotten has also been attracting interest on horse racing betting sites and could challenge the hattrick-chasing Glor Tire.

The 4-year-old won a maiden over a similar distance back in November in Dundalk and while a follow-up triumph has evaded him, he could pose questions today with headgear retained.

Best Tip #2: Corsican Caper – Haydock, 14:05

Corsican Caper tries his hand at 2m for the first time today, though his form has been strong enough since the start of the turn season to warrant plenty of respect.

The 4-year-old won at Haydock, albeit over a shorter trip, as recently as May 25th and that was won of three wins in his last five races since late April. He has something to prove here, however, he is fancied to score ahead of the rest in this Class 5 Handicap Flat race.

David O’Meara’s Animato arrives at Haydock in search of a third win on the trot, meanwhile. Wins in May at Catterick and then Chester were both secured over 2m and the similar trip today should suit him well again.

It’s All About You, who has been moving down the weights, has decent each-way prospects for J Candish. He finished second at Doncaster and fourth at Salisbury on his first two runs for his new stable.

Best Roughie: Talkingthetalk – Uttoxeter, 16:50

Sheila Lewis’s Talkingthetalk is priced way down the reckoning on betting apps for today’s penultimate race at Uttoxeter, however, the 7-year-old’s prospects aren’t that outlandish.

She managed to win at the same track in a similar grade and over the same trip in September last year and while her form after that has been uninspiring, a return to the scene of her last triumph could offer inspiration.

Elsewhere, Hattons Gardens has the potential to be in the frame, especially as a runner with each-way credentials. The 8-year-old runs off a workable-looking mark today and could produce more over a longer trip.

Jeteye, who is another with a favourable mark, should also factor into your thinking despite pulling up in two of his last three races.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Leopardstown has few tight bends and has gentle undulations, so horses with galloping power can often be the ones to back. Prolific flat race trainer AP O’Brien has posted more wins (77) than anyone else at Leopardstown over the last five years.
  • Haydock is another course that can suit the striding types with little in the way of taxing turns to navigate. Jockey James Doyle, who has four races to compete in today, has won 27 times at Haydock over the last five years, while Tom Marquand, who has three rides in today’s meeting, has won 24 times over the same period.
  • The circuit at Uttoxeter is largely fair, though the fences can be tricky for some and confident jumpers are a better bet when identifying selections there. Trainer Olly Murphy has been setting the standard at Uttoxeter over the past half a decade, recording 40 wins from 180 races over that period.
