Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 06/03

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Wednesday’s race card line-up features events at Catterick and Kempton, and we’re determined to use our powers of prediction to get you through the hump day with some profit. Yesterday, our three horse racing picks produced a placed runner and TWO winners, including a 5/1 triumph thanks to Panna to Milan’s success at Thurles. Let’s hope for more of the same today. Check out our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: My Gift To You – Catterick 2.45

My Gift To You continues to excel for trainer James Owen and the 6-year-old takes top form with him into today’s second race at Catterick.

Some awkward jumps at Southwell last time out denied him a third win on the spin, however, he still ran well to second that day and despite a 4lb rise, he is taken to get back to winning ways at the first time of asking. Jockey Alex Chadwick takes off 7lb which should help to offset the increased mark.

Elsewhere, Kings Justice has been drawing backing on some of the other best betting sites for horse racing. He has strung together numerous solid efforts over C&D in recent outings, including a win at Catterick in December, and he could be a contender again today over the same trip.

Halfway House Lad, who finished 2-3-4 in his last three races, could be an interesting alternative off a wider price.

Best Tip #2:  Haston Clermont – Catterick 3.45

Haston Clermont is a lightly raced runner who won twice in successive races at Linfield at Wincanton either side of Christmas before he was beaten by just a nose most recently at Chepstow on January 30th.

A 4lb increase ahead of today’s run seems light a light rise and Noel Williams’ impressive 7-year-old, who will start a Handicap Chase for only the 5th time, has very attractive claims again here.

Competition could arrive in the form of Tom Cody, who has been a popular choice on betting apps in the UK. The 8-year-old won twice in a row in Class 5 races in December and performed up a grade at Catterick last month when losing by a neck over 3m to the favourite.

A repeat performance looks achievable today for Tom Cody, who is aided by a very slight 1lb increase. Skyhill is a bigger price, but has a 2-2 record at this track and deserves a mention.

Best Roughie: Forever Proud – Kempton 8.30

Preference is for Forever Proud to perform again in the last race of the day at Kempton. She looked the part in each of her last three starts, each of which were in classified events and the 4-year-old could defy her mark (51) on her return to handicap racing.

Her recent breakthrough win at Lingfield last month felt significant and with form on her side, Forever Proud is our pick to deliver again.

Iftikhaar is another noteworthy candidate despite a record of 0-16. He seems to be developing a good relationship with jockey Daniel Muscutt, who rode him to three good recent efforts at Lingfield since the turn of the year, with progress made each time in 8th, 4th and 3rd place finishes.

The 5-year-old was almost a match for Forever Proud two races back, and he could push hard again against the favourite here.

Stats and Insights

  • Catterick has a knack for rewarding previous winners so horses with a decent track record there are always worth considering. There are tight bends to navigate around the undulating circuit at Catterick and runners that hit the front early can be tough to beat.
  • Kempton is arguably the flattest course in the UK and the fair surface there can suit sprinting types over runners who lean on stamina to succeed. There isn’t much of a draw bias to factor in around the right-handed run, adding to the fair feel of the track.
