Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 05/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Saturday’s race card is a busy edition with meetings to analyse across the UK and Ireland at Ascot, Newmarket, Redcard, Southwell, Wolverhampton, The Curragh and Gowran Park. As per the usual routine, we’ve put in the hard yards to bring you three prime horse racing betting tips for the day’s action including an 20/1 pick from Ascot.

Best Tip #1:  Min Huna – Newmarket, 13:30

Min Huna is chasing a hattrick today having done the business on each of her last two outings at Windsor and Sandown. Her most recent triumph at Sandown came over a trip of 1m 2f, so today’s identical distance should suit.

An 8lb increase is notable, while softer ground could present a challenge, however, the William Haggas-trained charge still earns the nod.

Elsewhere, Ashariba is shaping up like a solid each-way candidate with a bigger price on horse racing betting sites in the UK.

A winner in three of her last four outings and in four of her last seven races overall, the 3-year-old is in top form and if her performances carry, she should be thereabouts again here.

Best Tip #2: Dandy’s Angel – Redcar, 14:45

Dandy’s Angel had to endure a frustrating start to the Autumn programme but rediscovered her oomph more recently with back-to-back wins at Haydock (1m 2f) and Hamilton (1m 4f).

She has been inched up 7lb in the ratings ahead of her hattrick bid at Redcar today, though she remains decently treated and should be right in contention again over a familiar distance.

The Easterby’s Casilli is a versatile sort who could ask questions off a meatier starting price, meanwhile.

The 7-year-old hasn’t tasted victory in two years, however, placed efforts at Pontefract (twice) in August were notable and the increased trip today could squeeze further progression out of her.

Best Roughie: Popmaster – Ascot, 15:35

Popmaster comes equipped with a lofty price on the best betting apps in the ante-post markets for today’s Bet MGM Challenge Cup, though she was beaten by only a nose in last year’s renewal of this race and could be an outsider with claws again.

Running off a 2lb lower mark than last year, the versatile 6-year-old has Saffie Osborne in the saddle and could make the most of a good draw.

Qirat meanwhile, has been backed into a favourite’s price already as he bids to win for the third time in six outings.

The lightly-raced 3-year-old has a record of 1-2-1-1 over distances of 7f and won over that trip when last seen at Goodwood in another Class 2 Handicap. There is a 5lb rise to absorb today, though that might not slow him down.

Stats and Insights

  • The wide track and infamous dip near the end can be tricky to navigate and horses with excellent balance are often the ones to stick with at Newmarket. Trainers Charlie Appleby, Andrew Balding, William Haggas, John & Thady Gosden and Roger Varian are the names to watch out for at Newmarket.
  • Redcar is a flat and level setting, meaning most horse types have a chance to do well there. Tim Easterby, David O’Meara, Michael Dods, KR Burke and Richard Fahey are among the trainers to follow closely at Redcar.
  • Previous course form is always worth factoring into your decision-making when selecting horses to back at Ascot. Trainers William Haggas, Andrew Balding, John & Thady Gosden, Roger Varian and Charlie Appleby all have good records at Ascot.
