Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 04/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Tuesday’s race card line up features four meetings of interest in the UK at Leicester, Lingfield, Southwell and Wolverhampton, giving us plenty of scope to pursue some profit. Keep reading to discover our latest horse racing betting tips for the day’s action below.

Best Tip #1:  Taste The Fear – Southwell, 14:45

Taste The Fear arrives at Southwell aiming to complete a hattrick of recent wins at the venue and the in-form 9-year-old could be tough to stop in the day’s second race.

The addition of blinkers seems to have had a real impact and though there is another 6lb increase to bear today, there is every reason to believe that more success is in the pipeline for Dr R Newland and J Insole’s charge.

No Regrets could be another name to weigh up on other betting sites for horse racing. A win over a shorter trip was achieved at Kelso last time out and that was the 10-year-old’s third triumph over fences. There is a small 4lb rise to consider today, however, No Regrets could be thereabouts again.

Crystal Moon meanwhile, won at Hereford a grade down in January and could offer something with cheekpieces on.

Best Tip #2: Camacho Man – Lingfield, 20:45

Camacho Man was away from the scene for nearly two years, however, he shaped up well on his return for a new stable to finish third at Southwell in April and the 7-year-old followed that up with an impressive win at Leicester last month.

The gelding drops in class today and he could be a cut above the field as a consequence. Back Camacho Man to maintain his promising trajectory.

Laurentia meanwhile, could offer a palatable alternative at a slightly bigger price. She has buckets of experience at Lingfield and won there on her last outing on May 2nd in a Class 6 Handicap event. That win was achieved for new connections and hinted that further progression was possible.

Foinix is another who has already placed twice in as many races at Linfield this year.

Best Roughie: Come On John – Wolverhampton, 18:00

The second race at Wolverhampton is littered with horses with plenty to prove, though Come On John is among the more eye-catching entries at a meaty price.

The 5-year-old is on familiar territory and though he finished eighth when last seen at Wolverhampton in May, a rebound performance isn’t out of the question. Come On John is rated 5lb below his last winning mark and he deserves a market check on betting apps.

Stoic Syd has been an ante-post favourite for this race, and though he hasn’t been seen since finishing in a disappointing eighth at Southwell in March, his back-to-back wins at Kempton and Southwell again before that shouldn’t be dismissed. He goes up in distance today, however, he should be in the mix if form holds.

Stats and Insights

  • The ground can suit quicker horses at Southwell in the summer with the conditions adding more speed to the flat, tight setting. Jockeys Sean Bowen and Harry Skelton, who are both riding today, have enjoyed 30 or more wins at Southwell over the last five years.
  • There are sharp bends to navigate at Linfield, so horses need a decent dollop of agility to get around. Trainers Andrew Balding and Tony Carroll have both delivered 50 or more wins for their stables at Lingfield over the past half a decade.
  • With an All-Weather surface offering stability, the circuit at Wolverhampton is considered fair and there are few hard luck stories there. Trainer Tony Carroll has lodged an unparalleled 82 wins at Wolverhampton since 2019, though his 9% overall win rate is on the low side.
