Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 03/08

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

The action continues thick and fast in the racing realm over the weekend and Saturday’s card features meetings at Doncaster, Goodwood, Hamilton, Newmarket, Thirsk, Windsor and Galway across the UK and Ireland. Yesterday, we landed a cosy winner thanks to Allonsy’s triumph at Newmarket and below, we continue our quest for more winners in our latest horse racing betting tips.

Best Tip #1:  Fairbanks – Goodwood, 14:25

Andrew Balding’s Fairbanks carries good summer form into today’s second race at Goodwood where the 4-year-old can express himself with similar gusto. Fairbanks has already scored twice since May and he looked the part when winning with ease at Newmarket over 1m 6f when last seen.

Blinkers worked a treat on that occasion and with those retained and Oisin Murphy in the saddle, a 6lb rise might not be enough to slow him down.

Align The Stars is another name with solid credentials and the hattrick chaser could be worth a look on the best betting sites for horse racing.

The improving 3-year-old won at Thirsk in June and followed that up with a victory in a Class 2 race at Haydock in early July. He has risen 7lb since, but is shaping up to be a contender again.

Best Tip #2: Waleefy – Doncaster, 16:00

Waleefy gets the nod to win this competitive Handicap race at Doncaster. Running out of William Haggas’s excellent yard, Waleefy has a record of 3-2-4-2-1 from his last five efforts with his win at Newmarket at the end of June on his handicapping debut the pick of the bunch.

He looks primed to perform again on his switch back up to 7f and he has more potential to release here.

Jessica Macey’s Smart Vision also warrants plenty of respect. The 3-year-old has looked better for the reapplication of cheekpieces of late and delivered the goods at this track over the same trip on June 29th. W

arriors Dream, who finished first and third at Lingfield and Sandown respectively in his last two outings over 7f, could also be in the mix.

Best Roughie: Building Bridges – Galway, 14:30

Building Bridges catches the eye off a big starting price in this Listed Handicap Hurdle at the Galway Festival and he could be worth an each-way shot, at the very least.

Last year, Gary McGill’s charge was a 40/1 winner of a lower-class C&D race at last year’s festival, so previous course form is there. Building Bridges prepped for this year’s renewal by winning a 1m 4f run at Bellewstown, so there is plenty to like about his chances today.

Zeeband is another form horse at attractive odds on betting apps in the UK. He’s been moving along a decent trajectory this summer as evidenced by his back-to-back wins at Bangor and Killarney ahead of the Galway Festival.

Today’s race is a stiffer test, however, this keen competitor won’t shy away from the challenge.

Stats and Insights

  • Goodwood is one of the more unique tracks on the UK racing circuit and all horse types are usually challenged by the nature of the course. Trainers Andrew Balding, William Haggas and Richard Hannon have all claimed victory on numerous occasions at Goodwood over the last five seasons.
  • Doncaster is a track for the gallopers due to the flatness of the track and the fairness of the turns.  Trainers Richard Hannon, John & Thady Gosden, Roger Varian, Andrew Balding and William Haggas are the names to watch out for at Doncaster.
  • The circuit at Galway is marked by tricky turns and wavy undulations, so nippier horses can often be the ones to hitch your hopes to. Yesterday, just two of the ante-post favourites managed to win across the day’s eight races at the Galway Festival.
