Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 03/07

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Wednesday’s race card line up features meetings at Bath, Epsom Downs, Musselburgh, Thirsk and Tipperary across the UK and Ireland, and with half a dozen events to analyse, punters have ample opportunity to land some profit. Yesterday, we had another productive time with our three selections delivering one placed runner at big odds (Pisanello) and one winner thanks to Green Triangle’s success at Roscommon. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Mr Wagyu – Epsom Downs, 19:25

Mr Wagyu came close to ending his wait for a win when he was just about denied over C&D on Derby Day at Epsom Downs on June 1st.

That race was a tougher contest than today’s run is likely to be and the 9-year-old, who has 15 turf wins over the course of his career, could finally score again. Mr Wagyu likes this circuit and that should be evident again here.

Get It could pose a challenge following his return from Bahrain, meanwhile. George Baker’s charge won a Class 5 Handicap race at Windsor on his first outing back on British soil last month and though he has gone up 4lb in the rankings since, he is definitely worth tracking in the markets on horse racing betting sites.

Best Tip #2: Foinix – Bath, 20:10

We dip into Bath for today’s second selection and while the penultimate race of the day is a low-grade event, Foinix has enough about him to shine. He has already placed in eight of his nine outings since the turn of the year, and he has been primed to win for months.

He came achingly close at Brighton last time out and running over a slightly shorter distance today, his time could finally come.

The rest of the field offers little in the way of inspiration, though Joe Ponting’s Kraken Filly has tons of track experience at Bath and that familiarity could work to his advantage.

The 6-year-old could be a solid each-way option at a bigger price, though preference remains for Foinix in this one.

Best Roughie: Powerful Nation – Tipperary, 17:40

The Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Tipperary Stakes looks like a very competitive affair, though Powerful Nation catches the eye at an attractive price ahead of the rest.

Andrew Slattery’s 2-year-old was a maiden winner at Cork at the end of May and he showed up just as well to finish second on his debut in the same region just before that. He has real speed behind him and he should be thereabouts again today.

Sir Yoshi is another name with possible credentials despite a below-par showing at Ascot (7th) last month. Before that effort, Sir Yoshi was a winner at Tipperary over 5f and though today’s test is markedly stiffer, there is some potential to unleash.

JP O’Brien’s Lady With The Tramp also has plenty of zip, won at Bath on June 7th and is a big price on betting apps.

Stats and Insights

  • Epsom Downs has numerous undulations and sharp bends to tackle, with the turns going both left and right, giving the circuit a unique feel. Trainers Andrew Balding and Jim Boyle have posted double-figure wins at Epsom over the last five seasons.
  • The track at Bath features an uphill final flourish and that can often allow galloping types to make up ground late on. Clive Cox, Tony Carroll, Adrian White, Eve Johnson Houghton and Rod Millman are usually the trainers to look out for at Bath.
  • Tipperary is a left-handed oval-shaped track that has sharp bends to whip around. Jockeys WJ Lee, Colin Keane, Shane Foley, Gavin Ryan and Luke McAteer have all enjoyed success at Tipperary over the last five seasons.
