Best Tip #2: Egoiste – Kempton 4.30
Egoiste performed well when narrowly beaten by today’s rival Stoic Syd over C&D just 24 days ago, and both horses, who ran clear that day, should be in the mix at Kempton again.
Egoiste was held up in the rear before his rapid advance in February and a strong start on his return could make him the one to stick with here. Egoiste also enjoys a kinder draw, adding more weight to his claims.
Stoic Syd has a 5lb increase to bear and a tougher draw to absorb than last time, which could put paid to his chances.
Alternatives come in the form of recent Lingfield winner The Game Is Up, who should be wearing cheekpieces again while Handel, who is a previous turf winner of 1m, should also be respected despite being quite exposed.

Best Roughie: Upping The Anti – Navan 2.40
Upping The Anti wasn’t pulling up any trees in his high-quality endeavours over fences, though he looked more the part over hurdles at Naas on January 28th, and he is taken to upset the established order today. With a hurdle mark a whopping 25lb lower than his chase rating, things are going to fall into place for the 8-year-old sooner rather than later and he should relish the longer trip today.

- Doncaster is a pear-shaped circuit with gentle undulations and few horses experience bad luck stories there. Conditions at Doncaster are also usually fair and today good to soft ground is expected.
- Kempton ranks among the flatter courses in the UK and it often suits sprinting types, with stamina not quite as ital. It runs for a mile and five furlongs around a right-handed track, while draw bias isn’t much of a factor.
