Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 01/07

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

A new racing week kicks off with a quartet of potentially profitable meetings at Pontefract, Windsor, Wolverhampton and Worcester on Monday. As per the usual routine, we’ve picked out a trio of horses with credentials from today’s meeting and you can check out our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Lennon – Pontefract, 14:10

Lennon has looked like a major player since his switch to handicaps in June and outings at Bath and Pontefract since his comeback both returned impressive wins.

Both of those victories were achieved over a mile, though George Boughey’s charge should enjoy the longer trip today and he could make light of a 6lb penalty to complete his hattrick.

Life On The Rocks meanwhile, should also factor into your thinking. Available at an attractive price on horse racing betting sites, the 6-year-old won three times in a row over a distance of 1m 2f between late May and early June, and though he fell back to fourth at York when last seen, the potential to improve on that is obvious.

Best Tip #2: Jolie Baie – Worcester, 16:30

Jolie Baie signed off last year with a maiden triumph at Worcester over 2m 4f and the unexposed 5-year-old returned from a lengthy rest to record a follow-up win at Ffos Los on May 30th over a longer 3m trip.

Moving back down in distance today, she could be thereabouts again today and though there is a 6lb rise to consider, Jolie Baie could be the one to back.

Elsewhere, Getaway Glory has been shaping up better since moving to chasing as evidenced by a win at Huntingdon in that arena on April 25th. Runs to third and second over 3m at Bangor followed and while his chase mark is 4lb higher, he has the ability to compete again here.

Fine By Me, who finished second at Southwell when last seen, is another name for consideration.

Best Roughie: Bossy Parker – Wolverhampton, 21:00

Bossy Parker has been well off the pace in each of his last three outings, however, he did win twice in a row over C&D at Wolverhampton earlier this year and with that track form pushing him on, he could defy a big price on his return to Tapeta in the Midlands today.

The 4-year-old runs off a mark that’s only 2lb higher than it was for his last success, so there is plenty to go on here.

Candy Warhol also has promising AW form to look back on at Wolverhampton. The 5-year-old was a disappointing ninth at Brighton last time out, though successive second-place finishes at Wolverhampton directly before that feel more salient today and he can be in the frame if that kind of form can be recaptured.

Candy Warhol is certainly worth a market check on sports betting apps.

Stats and Insights

  • Pontefract demands plenty of stamina from horses competing there and the stiff uphill finish takes plenty of going. Trainers Tim Easterby and Richard Fahey have both posted at least 20 wins at Pontefract over the last five seasons at the track.
  • All of the fences at Worcester are positioned on the straights, which makes the circuit easier to manage than rival courses. Jockeys Sam Twinston-Davies, Sean Bowen and Harry Cobden have been prolific at Worcester over the last five seasons and all three will be involved in today’s meeting.
  • Wolves has a couple of elements to consider. The Tapeta surface there is the obvious facet, though the left-hand turns there are unusual too and horses with experience at the track can often be the ones to back. Trainer Tony Carroll has enjoyed an unmatched 82 wins at Wolverhampton over the last five campaigns.
