The Doom Bar Anniversary 4YO Juvenile Hurdle is run at the Aintree Grand National Festival in April. This Grade 1 National Hunt Hurdle is for horses four years of age on race day and usually takes place on the first day of the festival.
There are nine jumping fences in the course across a total distance of two miles and one furlong. The race is designed for novice hurdle runners. During the 1960s and 1970s, it was named the Lancashire Hurdle, but has had other titles over the years as sponsors changed and it was classified as a Grade 2 race until 2005.

Doom Bar Maghull Novices’ Steeple Chase: Tips, Predictions and Previews
Note: the tips below refer to the 2021 Grand National Festival; updated previews will be available on the week of the 2022 Festival.
The unbeaten Monmiral is odds-on to continue that streak for Paul Nicholls but he’s got a scrap on his hands with ADAGIO here. David Pipe’s charge has form that ties in well with Monmiral from his Grade 1 Chepstow Finale success and he ran a stormer when second to Quilixios in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham last month. Recent winners of that race have done well here and, with the Irish raider staying at home, Tom Scudamore’s mount can fill in.
