Since 2010, the Betway Bowl Steeple Chase has been a Grade 1 NH Steeplechase, for horses aged five years and older. It’s held at the Aintree Grand National in April each year. The Betway Bowl is a three-mile and one-furlong hurdle race with 19 fences to jump. It was established in 1984, as a consolatory prize for losers and non-participants in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Initially, this race was backed by Perrier-Jouët and was named the Perrier-Jouët Champagne Cup. It was then sponsored by five other entities and renamed each time before Betway took over sponsorship in 2017, where it became the Betway Bowl Steeple Chase. The race is held on the first day of the Grand National Festival.

Betway Bowl Steeple Chase Tips, Predictions, and Previews
Note: the tips below refer to the 2021 Grand National Festival; updated previews will be available on the week of the 2022 Festival.
Tiger Roll and Native River sprinkle some stardust on this but both are hardly going to be seen to best effect this afternoon, and it’s a shame the former won’t be lining up in the main event on Saturday afternoon instead. Clan Des Obeaux has some questions over him after surrendering his King George crown and so WAITING PATIENTLY (six lengths ahead of him at Kempton) can go one better on second attempt at this sort of trip. He’s run well since in the Clarence House at Ascot and deserves a prize of this ilk.
