3.35 – King George Qatar Stakes (Group 2, 5f)
Heavy rain scuppered the ‘five-in-a-row’ bid from Stradivarius on Tuesday but things looks spot on for BATTAASH in his quest to win a fifth straight King George Qatar Stakes. He’s 4-4 at this venue, which is nothing short of tailor-made for his speedy style. Last month’s Royal Ascot return was satisfactory on reflection and there’s no reason to go against him in his latest Goodwood glory bid.
Selection: Battaash @ 5/4

4.10 – L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Glorious Stakes (Group 3, 1m4f)
Euchen Glen is a really admirable performer who has thrived this season but perhaps a penalty concession here is asking too much. Without A Fight could offer some each-way value but last year’s Gordon Stakes winner MOGUL is hard to oppose back over this C&D. He won two Group 1s after that in France and America and all three runs this season have come in the top grade. The Ballydoyle inmate should take advantage of this class-drop.
Selection: Mogul @ 5/2
4.45 – Unibet Deposit 10 Get 40 Bonus Nursery (6f)
A typically competitive nursery for this meeting, with lots in with chances. Richard Hannon saddles four and his King Power runner TROPEZ POWER is one that can improve. He was awarded his Newbury novice win in the stewards’ room – deservedly – and is likely going to improve again under Silvestre De Sousa. Recent Chester winner Ever Given for Tom Dascombe is a close second choice.
Selection: Tropez Power @ 7/1
17.20 – TDN Australia Handicap (1m3½f)
A daunting finale over just shy of the mile-and-a-half. The form of Wink Of An Eye is strong and William Haggas’ Royal runner has a major shot at a four-timer but BILL PEYTO has some very promising novice form in the books already and David Simcock’s charge is fancied to take another step forward now going handicapping over this much longer trip.
Selection: Bill Peyto @ 6/1
