Wednesday night is the final of the East Anglian Derby at Yarmouth. Always a popular track in the summer months, this is their biggest night of the year. It looks to be a corker of a final in prospect with an excellent line-up.

Bruno to be Crowned King

He is not the most regular winner but King Bruno has taken well to the track. He was no match for Antigua Storm in the semis last week but that hound is going to have to be foot perfect from trap one with both the three and four moving left early on.

The selection can beat the five to the punch round the outside and take advantage of any crowding on the inside to take an unassailable lead for Liz McNair in the feature race at 20.52.

Tom to Double up for McNair

It shouldn’t take long for McNair to double up on the night with Warzone Tom in the 21.11. He is another who has form from last week to turn around but that was his first race at this track.

A head separated him from Bettys Book, who already had smart form here, missing out by a length on a place in the George Ing final in May. With last week under the selection’s belt, he can reverse that form.

2020 Sprint Winner Can Double Up

Shrewd Call won this sprint competition last year, making it 3/4 at this track with a win in the heats last week. The quickest qualifier by more than a length and a half, he should prove tough to beat.

The David Mullins kennel could do with a pick me up at the moment after the injury to their kennel star Tenpin last week and the defending sprinter of the year can provide exactly that for them at 20.36.

Hutton’s Tornado to Prove Deadly

A very smart performer in Ireland, Deadly Tornado was pitched straight into the East Anglian Derby on arriving with John Mullins. He didn’t get a clear run in the heats or semis but a 27.95 trial shows that the engine is there.

This is an easier level for him at 19.16 tonight and anything close to the level of form he showed in Ireland as recently as June would make him the one to beat.

Magic Winner for Samuels

Erica Samuels can land the 20.21 with Jakes Magic. He has some very smart form here to his credit, with five of his last six wins coming sporting this same red jacket of trap one.

He has the most consistent early pace in the contest and that should be enough to see him round the opening turn in front and into a lead he shouldn’t relinquish.
