Greyhound Tips: Can the King Be Dethroned?

Greyhound expert Matt Newman is back with a look at the midweek evening action from Harlow, with five fancies on the card.

It’s another fascinating card at Harlow with six real puzzles to unpick within the open races. The sprint contest is not massively to our liking so we’ll pass over that in favour of the other five races.

Henry to Be Overthrown

This might look foolish after the 20.43 tonight but this could be the day that March On Henry loses his unbeaten record at Harlow.

He has more early pace to overcome than in the past and that can set it up for Kevin Proctor’s Front Society.

She is a very strong stayer over this 415m trip and has far less early pace to contend with on the inside. A clear run into the back straight can see her on the tails of the leaders as they turn for home and she can prove too strong.

Minnie to Kick in the Turbo Diesel

Things have not gone right for Diesel Minnie of late for all that she has still been running well. The way that the 592m contest at 20.23 has the potential to set up might just see her back to winning ways for Mark Fawsitt.

The pair outside her are both early birds so although Minnie is a wide runner drawn in 4, she can move out easily as they will clear her. She enjoys having something to chase down which is exactly the scenario she will get tonight.

Dornan’s Jet to Win Back at Harlow

The last time that Ballynabee Jet ran at Harlow was March 2020 but he is a wily old warrior who has winning form around tracks of all shapes and sizes so that is not a concern at all with him.

This is a fair quality field but it could actually be the switch that helps. He won at Central Park in January on his first look there in eight months. Something new for him can see him land the 18.58 for Theresa Dornan.

Field to Play Cricket in the Stayer

One of the most interesting runners on the card is Lee Field’s Wicket Keeper, running over 592m at 19.07. He is a solid performer over the 480m trip at Monmore, his run style suggesting this new trip can help.

He lacks a look here which is not ideal but this slot right on the rails could be perfect. The 2 didn’t run the track well on his last visit and if doing the same again (moving off to the right at the bends) the selection will have lots of room to take advantage of.

Mullins Is More of a Golf Man

David Mullins has some solid chances at Harlow tonight and none more so than Wentworth in the 20.03. He has some strong form at his home track of Romford, including a decent clocking when winning at this level.

A recent trial over tonight’s 415m trip was a decent first look and gives him something to build on tonight. He is not a regular winner on home soil but similar to Ballynabee Jet earlier on the card, this is something different for him to think about which could be a plus.
