There is more top greyhound action at Monmore on Thursday, with a good quality evening graded card.

There are four top grade races on offer from the Midlands track, two over the sprint trip of 264m and a pair over 480m, which adds some variety to the offering.

Beatties Looks Jet Propelled

Four starts in A2 grade have resulted in three wins from Beatties Jet. Her only defeat came last time out when producing her third worst sectional in 29 races at this track.

The percentage call suggests that Kim Billingham’s charge won’t make that same mistake from the lids again which makes her a tough one to beat at 18.48 given her record in this grade.

Tysons to Land Knockout Blow

The 18.33 should be a great battle on the rails for early supremacy. Tysons Zak is on the outside of that battle so will have to go the long way round Lemon Wesley.

That hound is not the strongest finisher over this trip so it is not as big an inconvenience as it may first appear. Paul White’s youngster looks open to better still to come and has returned to the track in sparkling form.

White to Double up With Billy

Waddos Billy can add another for White in the 20.43. The loss of the red jacket is perhaps not ideal but given his early pace compared to the dog inside him in one, he should clear and cross to the rails without an issue.

He runs the bends well and can slip round the inside of the middle pair at the opening turn before kicking on down the back into an unassailable lead.

Lovers to Shadow Them and Pounce Late

One of the lower graded races on the card at 19.24 where Lovers Shadow can get his head back in front. He has been performing well of late and this should be run to suit him.

He was only beaten a short head in this grade last time out so if he is able to repeat his most recent efforts, he can add to his win in this grade from mid-June for Brian Thompson.

Aquaman to Wave His Rivals Goodbye

October 2020 was the last time that Aquaman was seen swimming in waters as shallow as A3. In December/January he notched up a hat-trick of wins at A1 level so he is in a very winnable grade.

Far from disgraced in an A2 when last in action, Christopher Fereday’s hound is nearing veteran status now but he should be too classy for them at this level to close out the card at 21.18.

Matt has been involved in greyhound racing for twenty years as a punter, owner and tipster, from Wimbledon to his current haunts of Central Park and Crayford.
