The new LIV Golf has certainly captured a lot of headlines since starting in early June, with some of the world’s top players taking their place in the new set up.

Golf fans have had a lot of questions about the International Series, asking where the tournaments will take place, who will feature and how it’s different to other Tours.

We’ve compiled all the details you need on LIV Golf.

How Does It Work

The LIV Golf Invitational Series takes place over eight tournaments, hosted at courses in England, America, Thailand and Saudi Arabia.

Each tournament will be played under a shorter three-round format, with the winner after 54 holes collecting a $4million first prize while the total purse per tournament is $25million.

Second place receives $2.125million, while the player that finishes a tournament in last place still picks up a cheque for $120,000.

There are just 48 players in the field and there are shotgun starts in each event, which means that every group tees off at the same time but start their rounds on different holes.

As well as the regular tournament, the golfers are also split into 12 four-man teams with the winning team collecting $750,000 each on top of their individual prize money.

LIV Golf Events

The inaugural tournament was held at Centurion Club in London, before four events in a row based in the USA – with Portland (July 2), Bedminster (July 31), Boston (Sept 4) and Chicago (Sept 18) playing host in that order.

Tournament six takes place in Bangkok from October 9, before the players head to Jeddah for the penultimate event of the first LIV Golf Invitational Series on October 16.

The final tournament of the 2022 series takes place at Doral in Miami on October 30 – with the purse increased to $30million for the individual tournament and $50million for the team event.
