With the gap between Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal continuing to close at the top of the Premier League table, the battle below them continues to intensify. Brentford have started the campaign well and they welcome Wolves to West London next, whilst West Ham have struggled so far this term but will be looking for some respite against newly promoted Ipswich Town. Elsewhere, Everton managed to open their account last weekend, but their fixture list gets no easier, with Newcastle the next visitors to Goodison Park.
Brentford vs Wolves – Brentford to win
21/20 at Rhino Bet
Thomas Frank continues to get a tune out of his Brentford side, despite the loss of their star striker Ivan Toney in the summer and the Bees will be looking to kick on here against Wolves. By contrast, it has been a tough start to the campaign for Gary O’Neill and Wolves, who are lacking consistency and are floundering at the bottom of the table. This could be a closer game than the odds suggest but Brentford are a tough nut to crack at home and they should justify their favouritism here, with a home win – as expected by many punters and EPL betting sites.
West Ham United vs Ipswich Town – West Ham to win
5/6 at Betzone
Julen Lopategui has struggled to make his mark thus far at West Ham, but the Spaniard remains a highly skilled operator who will be doing all he can to turn things around at the Olympic Stadium. Ipswich Town are the visitors to the capital and the Tractor Boys have impressed hugely since returning to the Premier League and they will be out to put in another gritty performance here. This should be a very good game in East London and whilst Ipswich will make things very tough from the outset, West Ham should manage to come out on top in this one.
Everton vs Newcastle United – Newcastle United to win
23/20 at Rhino Bet
Following their incredible draw with Manchester City last weekend, Newcastle United will be out to keep their superb run of form going at Everton. The Toffees are always a tough side to beat at Goodison Park and Sean Dyche has improved the mood on the blue half of Merseyside, with a win over Crystal Palace last time out. Newcastle are developing into a side pushing to finish inside the top 4 again this season though and it is games like this that they should be winning if they are to fulfil that aspiration.
