With the big hitters at the top of the Premier League now looking to be cut above the rest, plenty of enthralling races are taking place elsewhere in the table. Brighton and Manchester United are two sides chasing European football next season, and both they travel to relegation candidates this weekend, at Sheffield United and Luton Town respectively. Speaking of the relegation battle, two sides immersed in it in Everton and Crystal Palace face off, in what should be a fascinating Monday Night Football.
Sheffield United vs Brighton – Brighton to win the match.

It has been an inauspicious start to 2024 for Brighton, who have been plodding along nicely in the FA Cup but have been uncharacteristically wasteful in the Premier League. That said, they remain in the top 8 and they should be fully up for this challenge here in South Yorkshire. Sheffield United have long been touted for the drop with punters and EPL betting sites and looked to be dead and buried before an excellent win at Luton Town last time out. Their home form has been patchy at best though and Brighton should have the quality to pick them off here.
Luton Town vs Manchester United – Manchester United to win & BTTS

Manchester United do look to have turned the corner somewhat under Erik ten Hag and they will need to continue that upturn in form here at Luton Town. The Hatters have been one of the stories of the Premier League this season and whilst they remain firmly in relegation contention, they do have their fate in their own hands as it stands. The Red Devils meanwhile have been ticking along very nicely of late and their gritty win at Aston Villa last time out could prove to be a real season definer. Luton have given the very best in the league a good game this season and they will push United, but the reds should prevail on the road in this one.
Everton vs Crystal Palace – Everton to win the match.

A true relegation six-pointer is on the agenda here at Goodison Park, as Everton host Crystal Palace. The Toffees have been improving steadily so far this season and have been hampered by their 10-point deduction, but they do remain in the relegation hunt and have work to do. Crystal Palace meanwhile are embroiled in off-field issues, particularly relating to manager Roy Hodgson but the playing staff will need to step up here. Palace do look to be low on confidence. This will be frenetic but Everton need a win and they should get one.
