This Grade 1 Hurdle race is held in Great Britain at the Aintree race track during the Grand National Festival. The race consists of 11 hurdles and it takes place in April each year. This hurdle race was initially run on the festival’s last day, although has been changed to the first of the day since 2013.
Established in 1976, the track was later shortened in 1988 and was renamed in 2010 after a former jockey, Dick Francis, who was closely associated with the Grand National and Aintree, before it was renamed again in 2017.

Aintree Hurdle Tips, Predictions, and Previews
Note: the tips below refer to the 2021 Grand National Festival; updated previews will be available on the week of the 2022 Festival.
A real puzzler. This has been the target all season for McFabulous but his Fontwell defeat to Brewin’upastorm was a setback. He’s 6lb better off now but the Irish challenge is strong from Jason The Militant and ABACADABRAS. The latter fell in the Champion Hurdle last time but his earlier second to Honeysuckle at the Dublin Racing Festival bodes well for him going up in trip now. He can take out the Champion Hurdle-winning trainer/jockey team. Former winner Buveur D’air shouldn’t be overlooked in great haste given Nicky Henderson’s record of getting his stars back from the brink.
