2022 Queen Mother Champion Chase: Tips and Predictions |
The Champion Chase last season was won by Put The Kettle On and she was given a brilliant ride by our ambassador Aidan Coleman. It looks unlikely at this stage that she will be back to defend her crown, as her trainer Henry De Bromhead has come out and said after her disappointing run in the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham, a step up in trip is what she needs, so the Ryanair Chase looks the race for her. Shishkin heads the market at 11/8, and it will be interesting to see how last season’s Arkle winner gets on this season. Chacun Pour Soi went into the Champion Chase last season as the short price favourite, but weakened up the Cheltenham hill and could only finished third. Nube Negra finished second last year and has already beaten Put The Kettle On this season at Cheltenham. He looks set to take on Chacun Pour Soi in the Tingle Creek at Sandown, and if he can win that race, he will shorten in the market and will likely become the second favourite for the race in March. Energumene missed the festival last year, but he was very impressive in all of his runs last season, and he hacked up at the Punchestown Festival on his final start winning the Ryanair Novices’ Chase by 16 lengths. |
