Blackburn vs Watford Analysis

Blackburn

A run of three straight wins in the Championship has thrust Blackburn into serious playoff contention and Rovers could climb into sixth spot if results go their way on Saturday.

Rovers have been collecting a relatively modest 1.68 points per game at Ewood Park this season, however, they did impress in their last home assignment against Millwall (4-1) and that good result in Lancashire could set them up for another here.

March appointee, Valerien Ismaël, started his Blackburn tenure slowly, however, an improving Rovers’ recent three game winning spurt suggests they could be good value to triumph on football betting sites again on Saturday.

Team news: Todd Cantwell, Harry Leonard, Scott Wharton, Emmanuel Dennis, Augustus Kargbo, Hayden Carter, Owen Beck and Andreas Weimann are injured.

Predicted Lineup: Toth, Brittain, Hyam, Batth, Ribeiro, Tronstad, Travis, Dolan, Woodrow, Hedges, Ohashi

Watford

Nestled in a comfortable mid-table position, Watford have little other than pride to play for between now and the end of the campaign and short on motivation, their results have started to suffer.

The Hornets’ 1-0 loss at Portsmouth last time out was their fourth defeat in five Championship assignments and it’s easy to see why Watford have been priced as outsiders on EFL betting sites ahead of the weekend.

Away from Vicarage Road, Watford have won only once in their last eight attempts and we’ve recommend opposing them again here.

Team news: Angelo Ogbonna, Amin Nabizada, Giorgi Chakvetadze, Kwadwo Baah and Yasser Larouci are injured. Kevin Keben is suspended.

Predicted Lineup: Selvik, Andrews, Ngakia, Sierralta, Wiley, Louza, Dwomoh, Ince, Dele-Bashiru, Vata, Doumbia

Blackburn vs Watford Stats and Trends

  • Blackburn have won each of their last three matches in the Championship.
  • Watford have failed to win 80% of their last ten games in the Championship.
  • Blackburn have kept only one clean sheet in their last eight games at Ewood Park.
  • Tyrhys Dolan has scored twice in his last four appearances for Blackburn.

Blackburn vs Watford Prediction

Blackburn are making a late dash for a top-six finish in the Championship and fresh from winning three games on the bounce in the second tier, Rovers appear primed to triumph again on Saturday. Watford have lost four away games in a row in the league and with little to play for, the poor travellers can be opposed with confidence at Ewood Park.

Prediction: Blackburn to win – 7/10 (-143) – Fitzdares

Blackburn vs Watford – The Ultimate Bet:

Both teams to score – 5/6 (-120)

Confidence should be high in the Blackburn camp following a run of three wins on the trot, however, while a fourth victory in a row could be in the works for Rovers on Saturday, a clean sheet could be harder to secure.

Rovers have kept only one clean sheet in eight games at Ewood Park – a record that suggests Watford should have chances to register in Lancashire.

Five of Blackburn’s last seven home fixtures have featured goals at both ends and bettors should consider a wager in the same direction for Saturday’s visit of Watford.
