MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Meetings across the UK and Ireland at Lingfield, Musselburgh, Taunton and Thurles combine to fill up Thursday’s race card, and we’ve been knee-deep in analysis ahead of the action to bring you three of the best free horse racing betting tips for today’s action at the track. View our latest horse racing picks below including our 18/1 long shot at Lingfield.

Best Tip #1: Mistergif – Thurles, 12:05

Mistergif made an instant impact for Willie Mullins when debuting on Irish soil in January, beating all to claim the spoils at Limerick and the 5-year-old showed promise elsewhere after that with his run to second place at Punchestown in May a particularly eye-catching display.

Mistergif looks like the classiest operator in this opener at Thurles and is backed to go well again on his chasing bow.

Elsewhere, Western Diego could be another contender to weigh up on the best betting sites for horse racing.

The former point-to-point winner posted finishes of 1st and 3rd in successive outings at Fairyhouse earlier this year before clocking off for the summer and the 7-year-old could be the one to challenge stablemate Mistergif today.

Best Tip #2: Tripoli Flyer – Taunton, 12:50

Tripoli Flyer was on the track as recently as yesterday when Fergal O’Brien’s charge did the business and won in a similar race at Market Rasen over a trip of 2m 1f.

That solid showing followed on from another promising effort at Chepstow (2nd) earlier in the month and Tripoli Flyer could be the one to set the bar again today if he can manage the swift turnaround between races.

Dance And Glance meanwhile, could offer a different solution for punters looking for a bigger price.

The 4-year-old returned to action on November 15th at Southwell and promptly delivered a win for AJ Honeyball and though that race was considered a relatively low standard, Dance And Glance could still have something to offer in this tougher test at Taunton.

Best Roughie: Pleasure Garden – Lingfield, 15:30

Pleasure Garden hasn’t raced in 527 days, though he remains an intriguing prospect nonetheless, especially at the prices quoted on the best betting apps.

Pleasure Garden was a winner on his stable debut for trainer Karen Jewell at Plumpton in April 2023 and finished 2nd and 4th in subsequent races at Fontwell and Stratford. The 7-year-old has what it takes to be a surprise package here if he goes off.

Dromiac Jury is the early front-runner in the markets however and having returned from a break with a good display at Bangor last month, the 5-year-old could go one better in the day’s final race at Lingfield.

Dromlac Jury won a mares’ handicap at Ludlow in March and looked almost as good on his chasing debut at Bangor, so expect big things from him again today.

Stats and Insights

  • Stamina can be a useful asset for horses at Thurles due to the circuit’s tough uphill finish. Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott have been the two most dominant trainers at Thurles in recent seasons.
  • Taunton tends to favour the front runners due to the short circuit there, so our tips will usually need to be close to the leaders to make an impact. Paul Nicholls (56) has had more winning horses here over the last five jump seasons than any other trainer.
  • The track at Lingfield features a 7-furlong downhill straight which tends to favour the quicker horses, so look for rapid runners when analyzing the markets here. Trainer Gary Moore has lodged 27 wins at Lingfield over the last five seasons.
