Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 26/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Meetings across the UK and Ireland at Sedgefield, Southwell and Tramore combine to fill up Tuesday’s race card, giving punters another shot at securing some profit.

Yesterday, we had another profitable day with all three of our selections finishing in the frame. Craven Bay was a 5/2 winner at Kempton, while our other two picks placed, including our 12/1 long shot, Leave Of Absence.

Let’s hope for more of the same in our latest set of free horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Lunar Contact – Southwell, 15:40

The addition of cheekpieces seems to have done the trick for Lunar Contract of late and the 6-year-old managed to win back-to-back handicap chases at Fakenham in October and November.

His most recent triumph was a cosy one under the guidance of jockey Callum Pritchard. The pair are reunited here for what looks like a winnable handicap hurdle and Lunar Contact should be expected to set the standard.

Elsewhere, Topkapi Star could offer an alternative at a larger price on the best horse racing betting sites.

A surprise 22/1 winner when last on the track at Sedgefield, she will compete with just a 2lb higher mark today, though jockey Murray Dodd shaves that penalty off and more with his 5lb claimer. Expect Ewan Whilians’s charge to make an impact here.

Best Tip #2: Rochestown – Tramore, 14:20

Brendan Walsh’s Rochestown has big claims in today’s 2m 5f Handicap Hurdle at Tramore and the former two-time course winner earns the nod to claim the spoils.

The 9-year-old’s wins in Waterford came in January and most recently in April, and Rochestown returns to that venue carrying a 7lb higher mark. Still, today’s heavy ground should suit him, while the trip also looks ideal, so expect a strong showing.

Stowaway Lass meanwhile, could also be worth a market check closer to go time. The experienced campaigner is yet to score over hurdles (0-12), however, she has shown some solid form since the summer and has finished 4-4-5 in her last three hurdle handicap events.

If the quality of her jumps is maintained today, Stowaway Lass could be a good each-way prospect.

Best Roughie: Nibiru – Sedgefield, 14:30

Nibiru made an interesting debut for Jack Jones earlier this month when landing in 4th spot at Southwell in a Class 4 Handicap race on the flat and the underdog could improve on that showing at Sedgefield.

The 9-year-old, who won an Apprentice Claimer in Dundalk last month, is well-treated by the handicappers on his Irish form and could pose a threat to the more fancied horses.

Laser Focus has been drawing the most interest on betting apps in the ante-post shuffle, however.

The James Owen-trained contender is hattrick chasing today having won back-to-back races at Huntingdon and Fakenham earlier this month and though he has effectively gone up 20lb since the start of his winning streak, he still commands plenty of respect here.

Stats and Insights

  • Southwell is a left-handed oval track that runs for approximately a mile. With a largely flat, narrow run, sprinters can often be favoured here. Dan Skelton, Olly Murphy, Fergal O’Brien, Martin Keighley and Nicky Henderson are the trainers to track closely here.
  • Tramore is a challenging track for most horse types and the unusual flag starts in Waterford can catch some uninitiated competitors out. With 51 wins, Willie Mullins has been the most successful trainer at Tramore in recent seasons.
  • Sedgefield is a left-handed, oval-shaped course and is undulating in parts. There is an uphill finish to conquer there too, so staying power is useful. Jockey Brian Hughes (76 wins), who is involved in six races today, has been the top jockey at Sedgefield in recent campaigns.
