Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 23/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Saturday’s race card is a typically busy edition and the weekend’s racing kicks into gear with events across the UK and Ireland at Ascot, Haydock, Huntingdon, Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Punchestown.

Yesterday, we landed another winner thanks to Duke Of Luckley’s triumph at Catterick, while another of our three selections placed (Mirazur West – Tipperary). With momentum to maintain, we’re targeting more profit with our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: State Man – Punchestown, 14:10

State Man is targeting his third win in a row of this renewal and the 7-year-old should be difficult to oppose. The Grade 1 regular is a dominant force at this level and heads to Punchestown hunting down a sixth win on the spin in the hurdling sphere.

Willie Mullin’s all-conquering 7-year-old will set a high bar today and it’s up to the rest of the field to play catch up.

Gordon Elliott’s Brighterdaysahead could offer a nice alternative at a bigger price on horse racing betting sites in the UK, meanwhile.

Her only blip in five outings last term was in the mares’ novices’ at Cheltenham and she returned to action on the first of November in similar style when beating all to win at Down Royal. She has a bit to prove today, but is of interest nonetheless.

Best Tip #2: Roadlesstravelled – Haydock, 12:08

J & A O’Neill paid a sizable £215,000 to land Roadlesstravelled back in May 2023 and the promising charge has proven a tidy acquisition since.

An easy win at Market Rasen on his debut in October was followed up by another smooth success at Wetherby in a Class 3 Novice Hurdle 21 days ago, and with more potential to release, bettors should expect this up-and-comer to launch another bold bid ah Haydock.

Elsewhere, Dan Skelton’s Country Mile is shaping up like another likely candidate.

A bumper winner on the flat at Huntingdon in April, the 5-year-old returned from a summer off to win at Ayr in a Class 4 Novice hurdle in October, showing excellent versatility to triumph there. Today’s assignment is more challenging; however, Country Mile could still be in the mix.

Best Roughie: Tune The Chello – Huntingdon, 13:58

Tune The Chello is something of an unknown quantity having not raced in any capacity since February 2023, however, the element of surprise could work in her favour and she could be a solid each-way prospect here.

Tune The Chello had a record of 5-3-3-2 from five decent-level races before taking time out and will be a well-treated competitor here. Definitely one to watch.

Lilting Verse is the early favourite on betting apps meanwhile, and has made a solid enough start to chasing to earn consideration.

The former bumper/hurdle winner finished third in a Class 4 Chase Handicap at Ffos Las in October which could provide a sound foundation to build on and some improvement can be expected from game 7-year-old today.

Stats and Insights

  • Punchestown is around a mile and six furlongs in length for hurdle events and is a fair track in the main. Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott have been the two most successful trainers in jumps races over the last five seasons at Punchestown.
  • Haydock isn’t overly demanding compared to other venues, however, the weather in the north west can have a big effect on conditions underfoot. Look out for horses trained by Venetia Williams, Dan Skelton, Donald McCain, Paul Nicholls and Jonjo O’Neill at Haydock.
  • Huntingdon is a flat, wide setting and features sweeping bends. The layout of the track tends to suit the speedier types. Fergal O’Brien, Dan Skelton, Ben Pauling, Gary Moore and Olly Murphy are the trainers to keep an eye on here.
