Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 08/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Friday’s race card features events across the UK and Ireland at Exeter, Fontwell, Hexham, Newcastle and Dundalk, offering punters a chance to build some profit up ahead of the weekend.

As per the usual routine, we’ve done the research and analysis to find three of the best horse racing betting tips for the day’s action, including an 22/1 long shot at Dundalk. Read our latest free tips below.

Best Tip #1: Skyjack Hijack – Exeter, 12:40

Skyjack Hijack has been on a steady upward trajectory since the summer and his win ahead of 6 others in a Class 4 Hurdle Handicap at Newcastle last time out was his fourth victory in a row.

Moving up grades hasn’t been a problem for the in-form 6-year-old so far who delivered a fine win at Aintree in Class 3 conditions in his penultimate outing. With momentum to burn, Skyjack Hijack is worth backing on horse racing betting sites in the UK again here.

Jack Black meanwhile, could pose a challenge for Dan Skelton. The 5-year-old has been in the frame in each of his last three races, though he has been out of action since February. He is shaping up like a possible improver, however, and is likely to be involved in the shake up.

Captain Bellamy, who is a previous point and flat winner, is another operator with decent credentials.

Best Tip #2: Call Off The Dogs – Fontwell, 13:25

Call Off The Dogs is something of a track specialist at Fontwell and will compete at the track for the fifth time in a row in today’s second race at the circuit.

The 9-year-old has a record of 1-1-2-1 from his last five runs there and is taken to add to his haul of three victories. He will run off a career-high mark today, though jockey Caoilin Quinn sees to some of that with a 3lb claimer.

Jack Doyen represents an interesting alternative at a meatier price. The 8-year-old was a winner at Hereford in a similar race back in March and finished 2-4-3 in his next three efforts. The dual chase winner, is well-treated today and could make a bold bid despite his unfancied status.

Best Roughie: Whispersinthewind – Dundalk, 18:30

Donnacha O’Brien’s Whispersinthewind is priced well down the reckoning on the best betting apps ahead of go time at Dundalk today, however, there are reasons to suggest that the 3-year-old can defy his big price to compete.

A Maiden race winner at Naas on his last outing on October 12th, Whispersinthewind also delivered solid efforts at Navan (4th) and Gowran Park (5th) this year and looks to have each-way potential here.

Elsewhere, Vivienda catches the eye as a top prospect for Ger Lyons. A winner in two of her last three races at Gowran Park and Dundalk, she has her first attempt at stakes level today, but she has the ability to make the step up and could be a genuine nuisance.

The progressive filly comes equipped with an attractive price which adds to her appeal.

Stats and Insights

  • Exeter is a large track laced with pronounced undulations. Conditions there can get testing as the weather gets colder. Paul Nicholls has been the most successful trainer at Exeter of the last five seasons, lodging 33 wins there over the period.
  • Fontwell often suits nippier horses due to the unique setting the track offers and the right and left turns found there, so you should bear that in mind when picking out selections. With 61 wins, Gary Moore has been the top trainer at Fontwell over the last five jump race seasons.
  • Dundalk is fair and flat, and provides all the necessary ingredients for close finishes. JP O’Brien, Adrian McGuinness, John C McConnell, Ger Lyons and M Halford are the trainers to watch out for on the All-Weather track at Dundalk.
