With three English sides at the top of the Champions League table, it is the rest of Europe that will be looking to play catch up this week. Manchester City are enduring a sticky patch domestically and travel to Sporting Lisbon next, whilst RB Leipzig take on Celtic in what should be a raucous Glasgow atmosphere. Elsewhere, Liverpool will be giving Xabi Alonso and his Bayer Leverkusen side a very warm welcome off the pitch but will be showing their familiar intensity from the outset.
Celtic vs RB Leipzig – RB Leipzig to win.

Brendan Rodgers inspired his team to a famous point in Bergamo last time out, as Celtic pinched a draw against Atalanta – a result that could have quite easily been very different. With that in mind, the green and whites take on RB Leipzig, with the German side having suffered three losses from their opening three games. That doesn’t tell the whole picture though, with both Atletico Madrid and Liverpool only just managing to scrape past the Germans and they should be far too strong for Celtic in this one.
Liverpool vs Bayer Leverkusen – Liverpool to win.

Premier League high-flyers Liverpool look well placed to have a good crack at the Champions League this season too under Arne Slot and they should be bang up for this one at home. The reds are in rampant form, fresh off the back of their superb win over Brighton last weekend and they will be building hope that they can challenge on plenty of fronts this season. Leverkusen will have a point to prove here and are going well under Xabi Alonso, but Liverpool should be way too strong for them at fortress Anfield.
Sporting Lisbon vs Manchester City – Sporting Lisbon to win.

Manchester City have been hit with an injury crisis and next up is the small matter of a trip to Lisbon, to take on Ruben Amorim and his Sporting side. A tough challenge in its own right and the fact that this is Amorim’s final home game before he joins Manchester United, has only added to the sense of intrigue surrounding the occasion. City won’t panic if it doesn’t work out in Lisbon, with plenty of games still to be played but Sporting and Amorim should have the final moments in the sun here.
