Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 27/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Sunday’s race card isn’t as busy as yesterday’s, though there is still a quartet of meetings to look forward to across the UK and Ireland at Aintree, Wincanton, Galway and Wexford. 24 hours ago, we landed yet another winner thanks to Intense Approach’s success at Cheltenham, while another of our three tips on Saturday placed (Yaroogh, Newbury). View out latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Copperhaed – Aintree, 14:25

Copperhead has found winning form again after a dry couple of years and the 10-year-old is chasing a third victory on the spin in the day’s fourth race at Aintree.

The 10-year-old beat all at Plumpton over 3m 2f in May before signing off for the summer, though he followed up in impressive style on his return to action 16 days ago to win a tough veterans’ chase at Chepstow. Moving up 5lb today, Copperhead has excellent credentials again.

Christian Williams’ Cap Du Nord meanwhile, also has the potential to launch a bold bid. He was beaten handily at Galway when last seen but can count victories at Plumpton and Perth inside two outings before that.

Any reimagination of that summer form could put him in the frame today and the 11-year-old should be worth a market check on the best betting sites for horse racing.

Best Tip #2: Wee Charlie – Galway, 16:13

Wee Charlie is turning into something of a course specialist at Galway and having won at this track twice in a row since September, the 7-year-old gets the nod to complete his hatttrick over a similar trip.

His last outing here on October 8th was accompanied by a comfortable win and though he carries a penalty today, there is plenty to be enthusiastic about with this charge in career-best form for Gerard O’Leary.

Elsewhere, Koor Star might be worth a look as an each-way possibility at a meatier price.

He didn’t pull up trees when finishing 8th at Galway in early August, however, he defied odds of 14/1 to triumph in a Maiden Hurdle at Sligo before that. He returns for another bash at Galway over a shorter trip and lightly raced in this sphere, he could have something to say.

Best Roughie: Deise Alba – Wincanton, 15:15

Deise Alba has been swapping ownership in recent years, though the three-time points winner has performed before and could threaten the market leaders in this 3m 2f Handicap Chase at Wincanton.

A useful stayer before, the 11-year-old tasted victory as recently as April at Stratford, albeit over a shorter distance than today’s, however, Alexandra Dunn’s entry could be worth some tentative attention again here.

Quick Draw meanwhile, who pulled up in two of his last three races, should be a leading contender if he stays in the race this time.

Nicky Henderson’s 8-year-old won here at Wincanton on his last visit to the circuit in February in what was a similar race. The good conditions should suit on today’s return and a bold bid is expected from the early favourite on betting apps.

Stats and Insights

  • There are tough fences to conquer at Aintree, so we generally like to look towards the most confident jumpers when searching for horses to back there. Trainers Dan Skelton, Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson, Willie Mullins and Olly Murphy are all worth looking out for at Aintree.
  • The track at Galway is an undulating run with some tight turns to navigate, so more agile horses tend to be favoured there. Trainers Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott have been the most dominant duo at Galway in recent seasons.
  • Wincanton is a testing course at the best of times with demanding fences and sharp turns to negotiate. Trainer Paul Nicholls has been the most successful trainer by far at Wincanton over the last five seasons, lodging an impressive 62 wins during that period.
