Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 25/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Punters have meetings at Cheltenham, Doncaster, Newbury, Wolverhampton, Dundalk and Sligo across the UK and Ireland to keep them busy on Friday and below, we’ve laid out our latest set of free horse racing betting tips for the day’s action.

Yesterday, two of our three tips delivered the goods with Plaisir Des Flos and Shecoulbeanything winning at Carlisle and Clonmel respectively. Let’s hope for more of the same today.

Best Tip #1:  Gale Maher – Cheltenham, 15:00

Adrian Keatley has something special in Gale Maher and the in-form five-year-old won for the sixth time in a row in July when beating all to claim the spoils in an eight-horse Novice Listed Hurdle.

The majority of those victories were achieved in comfortable style and if she can pick up after her post-summer break today, Gale Maher should be the one to set the standard again in this Grade 2 Class 1 event.

Dan Skelton’s Valgrand could be another name on betting sites for horse racing for your shortlists.

He finished fourth at the Grand National in Aintree in April before posting back-to-back wins at Uttoxeter and Bangor the following Munich. He will need a career-best effort to get the better of Gale Maher, but he factors into calculations nonetheless.

Best Tip #2: Chesneys Charm – Doncaster, 13:33

Chesneys Charm has been in solid form since the summer and has won on three of his last five outings for Grant Tuer’s stable.

Those victories were achieved on All-Weather surfaces, however, the promising 2-year-old looked the part on turf at York 13 days ago and was better than the 4th-place finish suggested. Chesneys Charm gets the nod to do some more damage here.

The Gosden’s Attack is expected to set the tempo, meanwhile. A winner at Epsom in a Class 4 Maiden in July, the youngster took a break before a reappearance at Newmarket earlier this month and his third-placed showing on that occasion was a window into his potential.

Moving up to a distance of 1m could entice improvement while Oisin Murphy adds value from the saddle.

Best Roughie: Saisissante – Newbury, 17:11

Uninvolved since December last year, there is a bit of a fog around Saissante’s prospects today, however, if the 4-year-old can recapture his 2023 form, he could ruffle feathers off a lofty starting price at Newbury.

Saissantte is a four-time winner on the flat and has also enjoyed success over hurdles for Noel Williams. A comfortable performer over this trip, this dangerous underdog could be the one to back on the best betting apps.

Wintercrack returned to action with a bang earlier this month to win the day at Nottingham in a Class 4 Handicap.

The 4-year-old competes in the same grade and across the same distance today, so a similar result isn’t out of the question. She has a record of 1-2-1 in handicap events on heavy ground, so everything looks right for Wintercrack as she aims to follow up.

Stats and Insights

  • Interestingly, there are only two hurdles inside the final seven furlongs at Cheltenham, so stamina can be just as important as confident jumping there. Jockeys Harry Skelton, Nico de Boinville, Sam Twinston-Davies and Harry Cobden have been regular winners at Cheltenham over the last five seasons and all four are in action there today.
  • Doncaster provides a fair setting with gentle undulations and easy to navigate turns, making it a track for galloping types. Trainers Richard Hannon, John & Thady Gosden, William Haggas, Roger Varian and Andrew Balding are the names to watch out for at Doncaster.
  • Newbury is another circuit for strong gallopers with the straight mile there favoured by horses with extra running power. Richard Hannon and William Haggas have been the two most dominant trainers in flat races at Newbury over the last five campaigns.
