Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 22/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Tuesday’s race card is another exciting affair with meetings scheduled to take place across the UK and Ireland at Exeter, Newcastle, Yarmouth and The Curragh. As per the usual routine, we’ve torn into the form book in search of angles and you can read the results of our research below in our latest horse racing betting tips.

Best Tip #1:  Giselle – The Curragh, 13:30

Aiden O’Brien’s Giselle has made a promising start to her career and her push to second at Leopardstown on her debut in June was followed up by a duck-breaking success here at The Curragh over 7f in October.

The Frankel filly saw off 15 rivals on that occasion and could have more potential to unleash today. She has a bit to prove in this condition and over this upped trip, however, she gets the nod ahead of the rest.

Elsewhere, Cercene is another eye catcher on the best horse racing betting sites. A winner at Naas over 7f in mid-September, the 2-year-old is shaping up like a progressive type and looks well-equipped to make another bold bid here.

Fiona Maccoul, who was also a winner at Naas nine days ago, completes the trio of likely contenders.

Best Tip #2: Inappropriate – Yarmouth, 15:40

Harry Eustace’s charge, Inappropriate, has been maintaining admirable consistency since the summer and has been in the frame in each of his last six races, mostly over a distance of 1m 2f.

Back-to-back wins at Beverley and Ayr in September and October were particularly pleasing, and the 3-year-old was a clear second when last seen at Pontefract just yesterday. Running off the same mark today, he should be in the mix again.

Milliterries meanwhile, could be a workable alternative. The in-form filly scored at Southwell on September 3rd over 1m, then moved up a grade and was far from disgraced when finishing 4th at Newmarket a couple of weeks later.

Based on recent form and carrying jockey Daniel Muscutt, Milliterries has enough in her locker to compete.

Best Roughie: Cast No Shadow – Newcastle, 17:55

Cast No Shadow is priced well down the reckoning in the ante-post markets on the best betting apps in the UK for this one, however, the 3-year-old has good form at this track and is tentatively backed to make an impact in the north east again.

A winner at Newcastle in March and again in June over 5f, the 3-year-old competes over that distance again today and could surprise a few.

Alternatively. Jenever has been attracting some attention in what feels like a potential open race at Newcastle.

A winner over this trip at Sandown in June, the 5-year-old was a creditable fourth in the Ayr Silver Cup last month and though he carries a career-high mark into today’s event, today’s C&D could suit his skillset.

Stats and Insights

  • The Curragh is a unique Irish setting that features a taxing uphill finish, so stamina can be a useful attribute to bring to the table. With 154 wins, Trainer Aiden O’Brien has been the most successful trainer by far at The Curragh over the last five seasons.
  • Yarmouth is considered a fair setting in the main and the five-furlong straight before the finish line can often favour horses with longer strides. William Haggas, John & Thady Gosden, Michael Bell, Roger Varian and George Boughey are the trainers to look out for at Yarmouth.
  • The track at Newcastle also features an uphill stretch towards the winning post and with pressure on the legs a factor, stamina is also the watchword in the north east. Jockeys Paul Mulrennan, Jason Hart and PJ McDonald all know what it takes to win at Newcastle and all three are in action there today.
