Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 19/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

There are six meetings across the UK and Ireland at Ascot, Catterick, Stratford, Wolverhampton, Leopardstown and Limerick to look forward to on an action-packed Saturday race card. We’ve done the heavy lifting and deep analysis ahead of time to bring you three prime horse racing betting tips for the day’s action at the track. Keep reading to check them out.

Best Tip #1:  Korinthia – Limerick, 17:25

Willie Mullins’ Korinthia could be destined for big things and the unexposed 4-year-old won with room to spare on her debut at Wexford back in August, beating today’s rival Amboyna in the process.

She’s been out of action since, though she is certain to be bristling with energy ahead of her return to the track and representing Mullins’ prolific yard, she could be tough to stop in the last race of the day at Limerick.

Elsewhere, Switch From Diesel could be another name worthy of a market check on the best betting site for horse racing. She has raced only twice this year, though he run to second at Leopardstown in a Grade 2 effort in February caught the eye.

She failed to impress a grade up at Punchestown in May, though she has switched stables since and could improve on that seventh-placed push.

Best Tip #2: Small Fry – Catterick, 14:42

Small Fry has been making good strides since the summer and has delivered the goods for G&J Moore in three of his last five races, finishing second in the remaining two runs during the same period.

The 3-year-old has been mixing it across several grades, through the last time he covered a distance of 1m 4f, he won at Epsom. Jockey Joe Leavey adds a 3lb claimer today which only adds to Small Fry’s chances.

The stiffest challenge to Small Fry’s bid could come from Three Dons. He finished second at Haydock when last tween, but won three out of four races before that with each of those victories secured over distances of 1m 4f.

He’s been in the fame in nine successive races overall, collecting six wins during that surge and he warrants plenty of respect again today.

Best Roughie: The Euphrates – Ascot, 13:20

The day’s first race at Ascot could be a zinger and we like the look of Aiden O’Brien’s The Euphrates, who is loitering near the foot of the market on betting apps with an attractive price.

A winner over 1m 4f at Gowran Park in July, the 3-year-old was far from disgraced in subsequent outings at Leopardstown (2nd) and The Curragh (4th) in August and July and was a winner again on his return to The Curragh in late September against a field of 29 opponents. He has the potential to ruffle feathers again here.

The Euphrates’ stablemate Kyprios is expected to set the standard, however. He was a dominant force in 2022 and seems to be recapturing that form this year and the red-hot 6-year-old will be chasing a sixth win on the bounce here.

A June win at Ascot was nestled in that collection of prizes and he beat today’s rival Trawlerman on that occasion. Kyprios is the one to beat here.

Stats and Insights

  • The back straight at Limerick is relatively steep and horses with better stamina and the ability to finish strongly have a chance to gain ground during that section. Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott and Henry De Bromhead are the trainers to follow closely at Limerick.
  • With sharp turns and wavy undulations to conquer, front running types can often be the ones to back at Catterick. Tim Easterby has been the most dominant trainer in flat races at Catterick over the last five seasons, though KR Burke and Brian Ellison have also enjoyed success there.
  • Previous course form and experience are usually good indicators of future success at Ascot, so consider horses that have won and performed there before. Jockeys Ryan Moore, Jim Crowley, Oisin Murphy and William Buick are all riding at Ascot today and all four have been winners at the track before.
