Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 14/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Monday’s race card is a weighty edition with meetings scheduled across the UK and Ireland at Hereford, Kempton, Musselburgh, Windsor, Wolverhampton and Roscommon. Yesterday, we maintained our profitable streak by tipping another two winners.

On Sunday, Cloud Seeker did the business at Naas, while our long shot selection, Platinum Prince overperformed to win at Goodwood off a tipped price of 40/1. View today’s horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Cast A Spell – Roscommon, 16:45

A former bumper winner in the UK, Cast A Spell has been a consistent performer on Iris soil since the summer and finally scored at Killarney when last seen in a maiden race over 1m 3f seven days ago.

Today’s slighter longer trip should suit and with WJ Lee booked for the saddle, this progressive 6-year-old could have what it takes to follow up at Roscommon.

Elsewhere, Prairie Angel could be another name to weigh up on betting sites for horse racing. The 3-year-old takes top form to the track today having finished 1-2-1 in her last three outings.

A win at Bellewstown on October 3rd came after a strong final push and despite moving 7lb up in the ratings today, another bold bid is anticipated.

Best Tip #2: Baskerville – Hereford, 15:00

Baskerville will start as favourite in the day’s fourth race at Hereford and with jockey Oscar Palmer carrying a 10lb claimer into the event, it’s difficult to look past the 5-year-old.

A winner in a Class 4 Novice Hurdle at Uttoxeter in June, Baskerville was far from disgraced when finishing third at Market Rasen a month later and he could bounce back here.

The Height Of Fame could pose a challenge for Karl Burke, meanwhile. The 7-year-old has raced three times this year and has been in the frame on each occasion.

A win at Newton Abbot in July was followed up by second and third placed runs at Worcester and Fontwell in subsequent months and she has decent credentials again at Hereford today.

Best Roughie: Au Lait – Kempton, 19:45

Au Lait is an ex-Irish maiden who could make a splash on British soil today, despite being listed at an unfancied price on betting apps.

The 3-year-old finished 6th and 9th at Gowran Park and Naas on his last two outings, but will represent new trainer Conrad Allen today and a better performance could follow in what could be an open penultimate race at Kempton.

Karl Burke’s Stacey Racey could be the one to beat, however. A winner over C&D at this venue in September, the 3-year-old competes in familiar territory today having raced at this track five times in a row since July.

Stacey Racey has the right mix of course experience and form to perform over 7f again here.

Stats and Insights

  • Roscommon has sharp bends and a slight final incline to conquer, though it is considered a largely fair setting overall. Jockeys and previous course winners Colin Keane, Gary Carroll, Shane Foley, WJ Lee and Declan McDonagh are all in action today.
  • The track at Hereford is square-shaped and has short straights, so it can seem like horses are constantly turning there. Trainers Dan Skelton, Paul Nicholls, Kerry Lee, Jonjo O’Neill and Venetia Williams are the names to look out for at Hereford.
  • In sprint races at Kempton, it’s usually better to be drawn low due to the tightness of the circuit. Andrew Balding (90 wins) has been the top-performing trainer at Kempton over the last five years, while Oisin Murphy has been the most successful jockey over the same period (95 wins).
