Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 10/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Thursday’s race card is a busy affair with meetings set to take place across the UK and Ireland at Ayr, Bath, Chelmsford, Exeter, Southwell, Thurles and Tramore before close of business.

Ahead of the action, we’ve compiled another set of free horse racing betting tips for your punting pleasure, including an 16/1 longshot at Ayr. View our latest horse racing predictions below.

Best Tip #1:  Granite Bay – Thurles, 16:15

Granite Bay has been hitting plenty of the right notes this year and the 3-year-old was on song when winning in three of his last four races at Cork, Roscommon and Listowel respectively.

His most recent success on September 24th came over a trip over 1m 6f, though he has delivered the goods over shorter distances and should handle today’s 1m 4f run just fine. Jarlath Fahey’s gelding should be thereabouts again today.

Autumn Winter meanwhile, could be the one to beat. Aiden O’Brien’s charge drops down in class today after a respectable 7th at the King George V Stakes at Ascot in June and the descent down the grades should enhance his chances of scoring.

Dark Oak, who finished 3-1-2 in his last three runs, could also come into contention and could be worth pricing on the best betting sites for horse racing.

Best Tip #2: Red Cloud – Bath, 16:20

Red Cloud has been in top form this year and his win at Lingfield in a Class 6 Handicap when last seen in early September was his second victory in our attempts.

The 3-year-old has finished either first or second in each of his last five efforts overall and his consistency could be worth siding with against a small field in the penultimate race of the day at Bath.

Elsewhere, Harlington arrives at Bath on the back of a comfortable win at Wolverhampton. Moving up 4lb in the ratings today, Harlington could have more potential to unleash and a step up from his third-place finish on his last visit to Bath in September could be in the pipeline.

Bramble Jelly is another contender with decent each-way claims.

Best Roughie: Zumaaty – Ayr, 16:33

Zumaaty won the renewal of this race back in 2022 off a 4lb higher mark and while his recent form has been up and down, his previous success in this race catches our eye.

The 6-year-old did manage to triumph in a Class 6 Apprentice Handicap at Hamilton on September 23rd before fading back to 5th a Musselburgh on October 2nd, however, today’s conditions could suit and a bold bid could follow.

Mr Jetman meanwhile, is another horse with attractive credentials on betting apps.

Yet to win this year, Jetman has been consistent nonetheless and finished either second or third in four of his last five races, with a push to fourth at Beverley on the last day of August his only post outside the frame. Expect Grant Tuer’s 4-year-old is be in the mix again today.

Stats and Insights

  • Thurles is a right-handed, undulating track that features an uphill finish. Jockeys Seamie Heffernan, Dylan Brown McMonagle, Shane Foley, Wayne Hassett and Mikey Sheehy have all tasted success at Thurles in recent meetings in Tipperary.
  • The course at Bath is largely a fair setting, though the final flourish is all uphill and strong gallopers can gain late ground there. Trainers Tony Carroll, Clive Cox, Adrian Wintle, Eve Johnson Houghton and Rod Millman have all won 20 or more races at Bath over the last five seasons.
  • There are sweeping bends and a downhill plunge before the home bend to navigate at Ay, which can provide horses with a tricky test of their balance. With 75 wins over the last five seasons, Jim Goldie has been by far the most successful trainer at Ayr over that period.
