Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 07/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

A new racing week starts with a bumper Monday race card, featuring events across the UK and Ireland at Pontefract, Stratford, Wolverhampton, Yarmouth, Fairyhouse and Killarney. As per the usual routine, we’ve assembled a trio of horse racing betting tips for the day’s action including an 12/1 long shot at Stratford.

Best Tip #1:  How About No – Fairyhouse, 15:43

How About No has been pushing for a breakthrough win over flights since summer and having hit the post on a few occasions, today could offer him a proper chance at success.

Rated at 114, the 4-year-old is used to today’s trip and his trainer, Joseph O’Brien, has been averaging a winner per day over the last three weeks. Expect How About No to be firmly in the mix here.

Elsewhere, Charlie’s Dilemma could be another name to weigh up on the best betting sites for horse racing.

A record of 3-2-4-2-2 from his last five outings is nothing to be sniffed at and a push to second over 3m at Kilbeggan last time out could set him up for further progress here.

Best Tip #2: Quatrain – Killarney, 14:20

Quatrain was a runner-up on her last two starts over this distance at Gowran Park in April and June, and though she looked off the pace at Naas in better company in the summer, she bounced back to third at Listowel at the end of September and could kick on again here.

The 3-year-old has WJ Lee in the saddle today, which only adds to her chances of beating all in Kerry.

Castanets meanwhile, looks like a potential challenger from JP O’Brien’s in-form stable. She’s been in the frame in three of her last four races and was second when last seen at Gowran Park on September 21st.

The booking of Colin Keane makes Wing Glider an intriguing prospect at a bigger price, meanwhile.

Best Roughie: Crac De Megaudais – Stratford, 16:27

Crac De Megaudais was far from disgraced on his last visit to Stratford in July when he finished fourth over C&D, while there were also things to like about his fifth-place finish at Bangor last month over a trip of 2m 4f.

He will need to step things up to have a say back at Stratford again, however, this race has an open feel to it and the 5-year-old has good each-way credentials.

Eaton Anne is a former Irish point winner who has already been backed into a favourite’s position on betting apps.

The 6-year-old placed at Southwell and Cartmel on her last two efforts, and though she hasn’t been on the track since May, there could be more to come from the 6-year-old today.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Fairyhouse isn’t overly challenging, though the home straight runs along a slight incline and stamina can come in very handy there. Look out for horses trained by Wille Mullins, Gordon Elliott, Gavin Cromwell, Henry De Bromhead and JP O’Brien at Fairyhouse.
  • More agile types are usually the ones to hitch your chances to at Killarney due to the tight bends at the Irish course. Willie Mullins (36) has had more winners in jump races at Killarney over the last five seasons than any other trainer.
  • There is a short home straight to gallop down at Stratford, so we like our tips there to be front-running sorts. Jockeys Harry Skelton, Brian Hughes, Gavin Sheehan, Sam Twinston-Davies and Sean Bowen all know what it takes to win at Stratford and all five are in action at today’s meeting.
