Wednesday’s race card features events at Catterick, Kempton, Musselburgh, Bellewstown and Sligo on another exciting day for racing fans across the UK and Ireland. Yesterday, we delivered another winner for our readers when our tip for Cork, Mutasarref, did the business, so let’s hope for more of the same from today’s horse racing betting tips.
Best Tip #1: Space Tourist – Sligo, 16:10
Already a Listed race winner over timber last year, Space Tourist has looked the part over fences in 2024 and was successful at Tramore on his last outing in August in a mares’ beginners’ in Waterford.
With that form offering a guide, the 7-year-old should be a leading contender again in Sligo and the potent Willie Mullins and Paul Townend combo could reap dividends here.
Clifftop could provide an alternative at a more attractive price, meanwhile. The 8-year-old was unsated at Kilbeggan last month, but had a record of 4-2-2-1 from four races before that and though he is largely unfancied ahead of today’s ride, he is capable of pulling something out of the bag and is worth a market check on horse racing betting sites in the UK.

Best Tip #2: Keilah – Bellewstown, 17:30
Keilah has been a consistent character since switching to Willie McCreery’s stable and the 4-year-old gets the nod to earn a second career win in the last race of the day at Bellewstown.
Keilah scored at Punchestown in mid-September and missed out by just a neck at Navan after that over a similar trip. She has what it takes to bounce straight back here, however.
Elsewhere, Black Soul could be another name to track, especially with the booking of jockey Colin Keane adding interest. The 5-year-old’s form has regressed this season, though the slower conditions today could allow him to regain some standing.
Sceptred Isle, who was a back-to-back handicapping winner in the summer, completes the trio of likely candidates.

Best Roughie: Crystal Casque – Kempton, 17:10
Crystal Casque has been scratching at winning form in the summer and she finished a close third in her last effort in a Class 4 Handicap at Sandown on September 18th.
Interestingly, Rod Millman’s charge has five previous course wins at today’s venue and she is capable of defying a big price on betting apps to compete at Kempton again.
Hattrick-chasing Chalk Mountain meanwhile, is the ante-post favourite and is likely to be firmly in the mix again.
Wins at Southwell and Wolverhampton inside the same week in September were achieved in some style and Chalk Mountain has been on the up and up since his return from wind surgery. The 4-year-old warrants plenty of respect here.

Stats and Insights
- The track at Sligo has sharp turns and testing undulations, though horses with extra zip are still the ones to back at the course in the west of Ireland. Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott, John Patrick Ryan, Gavin Cromwell and Paul Flynn are the trainers to follow closely at Sligo.
- Bellewstown is largely a flat setting, though there are tricky turns to negotiate, while the final couple of furlongs are uphill. Jockeys Colin Keane and Shane Foley are both in action at Bellewstown today and both big hitters have won numerous races at Bellewstown before.
- It’s generally better to be drawn lower over shorter distances at Kempton due to the tight nature of the course. Jockeys Oisin Murphy, David Probert, Daniel Muscutt and Hollie Doyle are at Kempton today and all four have been regular winners at the track over the last five seasons.
