Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 01/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Tuesday’s race card line up is an exciting five-parter with meetings scheduled across the UK and Ireland at Ayr, Cork, Bath, Newcastle, Sedgefield and Cork. Yesterday, Lady Luck didn’t smile in our direction, though we’re ready to bounce back today and to that end, we’ve assembled another trio of free horse racing betting tips for your punting pleasure.

Best Tip #1:  Mutasarref – Cork, 16:15

Mutasarref has been enjoying a productive year and his list of honours in 2024 so far included one win at Naas and two at Leopardstown, with the latter triumphs achieved in Group 3 company.

The 6-year-old pushed to second in a Group 2 race at the same venue off a big starting price of 20/1 when last seen, so he looks ready to mix it in another tough event here.

Aiden O’Brien’s Dublin is shaping up as Mutasarref’s chief antagonist, meanwhile, and has been keenly priced on the best betting sites for horse racing.

The 3-year-old turned heads on his winning debut at Listowel last month and though he is taking a major step up today, he has more potential to unleash and could ruffle some feathers.

Best Tip #2: Andromedas Kingdom – Bath, 14:05

Andromedas Kingdom already has three wins this year, including two victories over C&D at Bath in April and May, and based on her performances at this venue, she is fancied to come on strong for Michael Appleby again today.

Andromedas Kingdom was off colour at Doncaster (8th) on her last outing in July, though she arrives at Bath fresh today and should be capable of far better.

Racing Demon meanwhile, is a recent winner a Bath (Sep) and will race at the same course today with just a 2lb higher rating. Any reproduction of that effort here should put him in the frame.

Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge, Darysina Gold, posted first and second place finishes at Bath in the summer and also warrants respect.

Best Roughie: Neigh Botha – Sedgefield, 16:10

The Greenall & Guerriero runner, Neigh Botha, scored at Southwell in June over 2m to get up and running and followed that up with a solid run to third in a similar race, albeit up a grade, at Worcester in July.

Returning to action today following a successful wind op, the 7-year-old could have what it takes to make an impact.

In an open-looking field, Noble Anthem could be another name to track when the markets liven up on betting apps.

The dual flat winner has placed in three of his four starts over hurdles and the 5-year-old finished fourth as favourite in his chase bow at Market Rasen in the summer, which was far from disgraceful. Further progression could be on the cards here.

Stats and Insights

  • The course at Cork is considered a fair setting and most horse types are usually in with a shot of enjoying success in Ireland’s south west. Jockeys WJ Lee, Colin Keane, Shane Foley, Ronan Whelan and Chris Hayes are the names to watch closely at Cork.
  • The track at Bath features an uphill run in, so stronger gallopers can be the ones to favour there. Trainers Tony Carroll, Clive Cox, Adrian Wintle, Eve Johnson Houghton and Rod Millman are all familiar with the feeling of victory at Bath.
  • Sedgefield is laced with undulations, while the uphill final burst at the track asks questions of a horse’s staying power. Look out for trainers like Donal McCain, Micky Hammond, Brian Ellison, Rebecca Menzies and Sam England at Sedgefield.
