Thursday race card line up features meetings across the UK and Ireland at Ayr, Chelmsford, Pontefract, Yarmouth and Naas, giving us plenty of wiggle room in our jostle for profit.
Ahead of another exciting day on the track, we’ve been busy assembling another set of free horse racing betting tips. Check out Thursday’s tips below.
Best Tip #1: Frank The Spark – Ayr, 14:42
Frank The Spark is hunting a hattrick today having beaten all to win successive races at Nottingham and Beverley in August and the in-form 4-year-old is taken to complete his trio for Paul Midgely.
Before his recent brace, the red-hot charge ran to second at Ayr and inched up just 4lb in the ratings, he should be tough to stop on his return to that venue today.
Water Of Leith meanwhile, could be another name to consider on online horse racing betting sites.
A winner at Carlisle over 6f last month, the 6-year-old is a dual course winner and a solid showing over 5f at Doncaster when last seen could set him up for improvement over the slightly longer trip in Scotland. Water Of Leith has what it takes to be in the mix.

Best Tip #2: Saint Riquier – Chelmsford, 17:30
Saint Riquier is due to climb 10lb in the ratings relatively soon, so it makes to stick with him before that happens. Denied a hattrick at Brighton (2nd) two days ago, Ian Williams has thrust his charge straight back into the action and the 6-year-old could bounce back at the first time of asking.
Today’s trip of 1m 6f looks ideal and as long as the quick turnaround doesn’t have an impact, he can set the standard again.
Elsewhere, Standbackandlook could offer an alternative at a slightly better price. A back-to-back winner at Wolves on AW in the summer, the 3-year-old regressed to third on turf at Nottingham last time out, though a return to peak form could yield a better result today.
Michael Appleby’s Le Rouge Chinois could be a player if he can recall the run that pushed him to first at Nottingham in June.

Best Roughie: Defence Treaty – Pontefract, 15:33
Defence Treaty takes sound form to Pontefract today with a record of 3-1-4-3-1 from his last six outings an eye-catching return since moving to Scott Dixon’s yard.
A win at Nottingham last time out was achieved ahead of nine others in a Class 6 race over 1m 6f that matches the quality of today’s run nicely. Moving down in distance shouldn’t trouble this versatile sort and a bold bid is expected off a big price.
Likleman secured a first win in 18 attempts at Hamilton 15 days ago and is worth considering on the best betting apps to follow up.
Mc’ted meanwhile, who delivered his third win of the year with a success at Yarmouth last month has moved up just 3lb in the ratings and should be among the front runners again under returning jockey Alice Bond.

Stats and Insights
- The track at Ayr features sweeping bends and a lengthy downhill run-in to the home bend before switching gears with an uphill final sprint. Jim Goldie has been by far and away the most successful trainer at Ayr in the flat racing sphere over the last five seasons, collecting 72 wins during that period.
- Galloping types are usually the ones to look out for at Chelmsford due to the wide bends and two-furlong straights at the track. Michael Appleby, Stuart Williams, Richard Hughes, David Simcock and Mark Johnston are the trainers to follow closely at Chelmsford.
- Stamina is a key attribute to possess at Pontefract with the track’s final three furlongs running along a stiff incline. Trainers Tim Easterby, Richard Fahey, KR Burke, David O’Meara and Kevin Ryan all know what it takes to win races at Pontefract.
