Thursday’s race card is a light enough affair with just three meetings scheduled to take place across the UK at Doncaster, Epsom Downs, Newcastle. The potential to earn more profit is just as high as ever, however.
Yesterday, our three selections returned to placed finishes and another winner thanks to Rebel Diamond’s success at Cork. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.
Best Tip #1: Desert Flower – Doncaster, 15:00
Desert Flower looks ready to justify her favouritism on the best betting sites for horse racing today as she chases down a hattrick.
Charlie Appleby’s in-form filly made all to win on each of her last two outings at Newmarket, beating today’s primary rival Flight to the winning post on both occasions. The move up to 1m should suit and the 2-year-old’s winning streak could continue here.
Ecstatic, who represents Aiden O’Brien’s prolific yard, could be another name for shortlists. She shaped up well to win at Tipperary last month on her second start and looks like a progressive type.
Ryan Moore takes the saddle on Ecstatic over stablemate January, and that feels like a significant decision from the experienced jockey.

Best Tip #2: Hello Cotai – Epsom Downs, 17:22
The Fighting Fit Handicap is the last race of the day at Epsom Downs and course specialist Hello Cotai could be the one to close business at the meeting in style.
The 3-year-old has two wins and a second-place effort in three previous appearances at this track and he will compete off a mark that’s just 2lb higher than the rating he carried to victory here last month. Adam West’s charge can succeed again today.
Elsewhere, Tribal Chief takes decent form into today’s run with wins at Nottingham and Kempton over 1m under his belt since June and he could have more to offer at Epsom Downs today.
Crimson Spirit is another candidate who seems to thrive at Epsom Downs and having finished first and second on his last two visits there, he should also be factored into your thinking.

Best Roughie: Alice’s Impact – Newcastle, 19:00
Alice’s Impact couldn’t get going at Catterick (7th) last time out, however, her form before that held plenty of promise with a record of 1-2-2 from races at Beverley (twice) and Carlise allowing for some momentum to be built.
Making her AW debut today, she should be in with an each-way chance, at the very least, if her earlier summer form can be recaptured.
Polly The Rocket meanwhile, has the potential to be a worthwhile alternative. Craig Lidster’s 3-year-old has just one win from 16 starts, however, that did come over C&D at the start of the year and she will run off a 5lb lower mark today.
Her push to third spot at Newcastle nine days ago looked like the perfect confidence buildier and she is worth a market check on betting apps on her return to the north east.

Stats and Insights
- The track at Doncaster is a left-handed pear-shaped run that tends to suit galloping types due to the lack of undulations. Jockeys William Buick, Rossa Ryan, Robert Havlin, Connor Beasley and Daniel Muscutt are all in action today and all five have won at Doncaster before.
- There are undulations and tricky turns to navigate at Epsom Downs and with both right and left-handed turns to negotiate, well-balanced horses can often be the ones to back. Trainer Andrew Balding (16) has had more wins at Epsom Downs over the last five seasons than any of his competitors, though John & Thady Gosden have a better win rate (33%).
- Newcastle offers the only AW venue in the country with a straight mile and the nature of the track tends to suit galloping horses better. With 74 wins over the last five seasons, Richard Fahey has been by far the most successful trainer on the All-Weather track at Newcastle in recent years.
