Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 04/09

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Wednesday’s race card line up features races at Bath, Hamilton, Kempton, Lingfield, Southwell and Kilbeggan on another busy day on the circuit across the UK and Ireland. As per the usual routine, we’ve been digging through the formbook to find three prime horse racing betting tips for the day’s racing action. Check them out below.

Best Tip #1:  Cruisin Susan – Kilbeggan, 17:30

Cruisin Susan has been in good form for the Berry family and had been chasing a hattrick before slipping back to 9th at Wexford when last seen.

Back-to-back wins at Tramore and Wexford again before that really caught the eye however, and the 7-year-old could have what it takes to bounce back here. She finished second on her last visit to Kilbeggan in July and merits respect on her return today.

PJ Rothwell’s Game And Glory has had good backing on horse racing betting sites, meanwhile.

A winner over hurdles at Ballinrobe in April, the 8-year-old has been chasing since with runs to second at Downpatrick and third here at Kilbeggan useful efforts. A return to jumping today should be an easy transition for this versatile type and her credentials look solid again.

Best Tip #2: Split Elevens – Lingfield, 16:50

Split Elevens has hardly put a foot wrong since mid-summer and the 6-year-old has enjoyed wins on three of his last four outings. All three of those victories came over a distance of 7f, with his last triumph coming over that trip at Lingfield over C&D 22 days ago.

The 3lb rise he has incurred since doesn’t feel significant, so expect this in-form charge to be thereabouts again.

Elsewhere, Mount Mogan might be of interest at a slightly bigger price. A course specialist at Lingfield, his familiarity with the track could come in handy today.

Each of his last five races happened here, though a big improvement on his 7th-place finish on August 27th is required to make an impact.

Best Roughie: For Pleasure – Bath, 14:32

The Harrow Inn At Wanborough Handicap has an open feel and a chance is taken on Olly Murphy’s For Pleasure in the second race of the day at Bath. The versatile sort, who has several jumps wins under his best has also proven his mettle in the flat racing sphere.

He hasn’t been in action since April, but twos from his last five outings is a solid return and he could unsettle a few rivals here.

Sir Mark Prescott’s Miss Gitana meanwhile, looks like another attractive prospect on betting apps in the UK.

Successive wins at Doncaster and Bath over 1m7f and 1m 6f respectively were achieved in the summer, while a decent push to third at Wolverhampton on August 16th on AW was far from disgraceful. Returning to turf today, the 3-year-old should be a player once more.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Kilbeggan is on the small side and there are sharp bends, undulations and tricky jumps to conquer there. Big-hitting trainers Willie Mullins, Henry De Bromhead and Gordon Elliott have come up trumps on numerous occasions at Kilbeggan over the last five seasons.
  • Lingfield is triangular in shape and races over 7f run downhill for the most part, which suits horses with extra zip. Richard Hannon, William Haggas, Rae Guest, Ralph Beckett and Gary Moore are usually the trainers to look out for at Lingfield.
  • There is an uphill finish to tackle at Bath and stamina can be a useful attribute to bring there as a consequence. Trainers Tony Carroll, Clive Cox, Adrian Wintle, Eve Johnson Houghton and Rod Millman all know what it takes to win races at Bath.
