Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 03/09

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Meetings across the UK and Ireland at Chepstow, Goodwood, Newcastle, Southwell and Gowran Park help to fill up Tuesday’s race card on what is shaping up to be another busy day of racing action. Ahead of the excitement, we’ve compiled a selection of horse racing betting tips for Tuesday’s card. Check them out below.

Best Tip #1:  Winter Fog – Gowran Park, 17:35

Winter Fog is a proven force over hurdles and though he has yet to deliver in the flat racing sphere, that could all change today.

The Willie Mullins-trained gelding lost out by 2.5l at Tramore last time out over 2m, though the slight drop back in distance today could make the difference and the classy operator should have a real shot at delivering for his prolific stable.

Elsewhere, Mr Percy could also be in the mix. Recruited from France, the 4-year-old impressed on both Irish starts in the summer, finishing second at both Ballinrobe and Galway over 1m 2f and 1m 6f respectively.

On that kind of form, JP O’Brien’s charge has got to be in with a chance here at an attractive price on betting sites for horse racing.

Best Tip #2: Imperial Cult – Goodwood, 17:15

Imperial Cult carries top form to Goodwood today having finished 1-1-2 in his last three races. Both of his wins came on AW at Lingfield over 1m 4f and he was denied a hattrick by a slender margin on turf at Epsom on August 16th.

Moving up just 2lb in the ratings today and with the experience of Rossa Ryan in the saddle, Imperial Cult is taken to get back to winning ways.

Meleri meanwhile, is shaping up like another contender. 2024 hasn’t been as productive as hoped so far, though she looked better when finishing second at Sandown at the end of July in her last outing and the 5-year-old could be open to progression here. Some rain would help her chances.

Best Roughie: Brunello Breeze – Newcastle, 18:15

Brunello Breeze always seems to do well at Newcastle. All three of his wins last winter came at this track with the last two of those victories achieved over today’s 1m 2f trip.

The 5-year-old’s showing against some of today’s rivals at Southwell (8th) on August 18th didn’t impress, but a return to Newcastle could make a significant interest and Brunello Breeze gets the nod at a big price on betting apps.

Evening Story is another name with credentials in the north east. She enjoyed three wins last year, including one at Newcastle on what was her bow for Grant Tuer’s stable.

Today’s distance might pose a question, though she’s got to be in the equation. Bohemian Breeze, who finished second at Carlisle and third at Beverley in August, also makes the shortlist.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Gowran Park is a setting best suited to galloping types while stamina is another useful attribute to possess in County Kilkenny. Jockeys Colin Keane, WJ Lee, Shane Foley, Ben Coen and Wayne Lordan are all in action today and all five have won numerous times at Gowran Park before.
  • The course at Goodwood is a unique proposition and horses with previous experience at the circuit can often be the ones to stick with. Trainer Andrew Balding has been setting the standard at Goodwood over the last five flat seasons, posting 42 wins over that period.
  • The All-Weather track at Newcastle is another wide run for the gallopers and includes a straight mile to surge down. With 72 wins, Richard Fahey has been by far and away the most successful trainer at Newcastle over the last five seasons.
