Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 01/09

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Sunday’s race card line up throws a trio of meetings up for analysis across the UK and Ireland at Brighton, Worcester and Tipperary. Yesterday, we tipped yet another winner to maintain our profitable streak. Quietness did the business at Beverley while another of our three selections yesterday placed (State Actor, The Curragh). Keep reading to view Sunday’s horse racing betting tips.

Best Tip #1:  Clear Justice – Brighton, 16:22

Clear Justice fell short in his hattrick bid at Brighton in early August, though his form at this track is excellent overall and dropping back down in trip today could allow him to get back to winning ways.

The 3-year-old looked the part in both of his back-to-back victories at Brighton in June and July, and the Moore stable representative should be at the forefront of thinking again here.

Elsewhere, Havana Mojito could be another name to consider on the best betting sites for horse racing.

He let his connections down when finishing fourth as favourite at Brighton when last seen, though he finished second and first on his previous outings at the south coast circuit and can be in the mix if that kind of form is reimagined.

Best Tip #2: Indian Sunbird – Worcester, 16:40

If fortune was slightly kinder, Indian Sunbird would be chasing a hattrick at Worcester today.

He beat all to win at the track on July 1st in a Class 5 Hurdle Handicap and went achingly close to following up when beaten by just 1/2l 17 days later. He has been inched up just 3lb in the ratings today and has excellent claims again at the same venue.

Chemical Warfare is another recent Worcester winner that could be worth tracking. He’s had just five starts for his new stable, however, two wins and a run to second at Uttoxeter when last seen represent an impressive return.

An 8lb increase is something to ponder, however, there are few brighter prospects today.

Best Roughie: Steps In The Sand – Tipperary, 17:30

The versatile Steps In The Sand has zero wins from 13 attempts on turf, however, he has enjoyed success before over 1m3f and 1m4f on AW, so today’s distance shouldn’t be a problem.

The 5-year-old is in-form over timber having enjoyed successive wins at Sligo and Downpatrick in July, so a winning edge has already been established and he gets the nod as a solid each-way prospect at the minimum.

Lady Christa has been well backed on betting apps in the UK despite an unkind 2lb rise following a recent push to second place at Galway.

A winner over this distance at Fairyhouse in June, she looked well of the pace in a subsequent effort at The Curragh (15th), however, she bounced back well at Galway and has the talent to be thereabouts again here.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Brighton is undulating in nature and has some tricky bends to navigate making it a better setting for agile types. Tony Carroll has been by far and away the most successful trainer at Brighton over the last five seasons, notching 50 wins in flat races over that period.
  • There are two long easy straights to gallop down at Worcester making it a straightforward setting for most. Trainers Fergal O’Brien and Neil Mulholland have set the standard at Worcester over the last five seasons there.
  • The course at Tipperary is a left-handed oval with tight turns and a five-furlong chute. Jockeys WJ Lee, Colin Keane, Ben Coen, Gavin Ryan and Shane Foley all know what it takes to win at Tipperary. All five are in action at today’s meeting.
