Some of the biggest sides in the Premier League line up on Sunday and Monday, as they chase the perfect start to the 2024/25 campaign. Holders Manchester City couldn’t have asked for a tougher opener, as they head to Chelsea, whilst Brentford take on Crystal Palace in a London derby to open up Super Sunday. The drama looks set to continue into Monday too, as newly promoted Leicester City will be looking to embrace life under new manager Steve Cooper, as they open up against Tottenham.
Brentford vs Crystal Palace – Draw
5/2 at Rhino Bet
Two teams hoping to force their way into the top half at least by the end of the campaign meet here, as Brentford host Crystal Palace. The Bees struggled at times last year but look to have kept their main man in Ivan Toney and they could be serious contenders for European football this season in the eyes of many EPL betting sites. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace ended the season in fine fettle under Oliver Glasner and that should carry over into this campaign too. Both sides will fancy this, and it could be an opening day draw.
Chelsea vs Manchester City – Draw
3/1 at Rhino Bet
There is a feeling that this game has come way too early for both of these sides, who have plenty of their biggest players missing following Euro 2024 and this could simply be survival of the fittest. Chelsea have Enzo Maresca in charge, a coach that knows Manchester City very well and they will be enjoying the classic new manager bounce often embraced at Stamford Bridge. Manchester City meanwhile still have Pepe Guardiola at the helm, but they haven’t recruited with their usual efficiency this summer and perhaps look a little thin on the ground. Neither side is ready for this one and they could both settle for a draw.
Leicester City vs Tottenham – Tottenham to win
4/6 at Betzone
Returning to the Premier League feels like the absolute minimum for a side with the confidence and resources of Leicester City and they open up their new season against Spurs. Whether Leicester can steer clear of the relegation picture this season remains to be seen but they have plenty of decent players in their ranks. Tottenham meanwhile will be looking to build on their 5th place finish last season and who knows what they are capable of under Ange Postecoglou, and they should get off to a winning start here.
