Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 07/08

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Wednesday’s race card is another bumper edition in the UK and Ireland with meetings scheduled across the isles at Brighton, Kempton, Pontefract, Yarmouth, Sligo and Wexford giving punters plenty to look forward to. As per the usual routine, we’ve picked out three runners with promise from today’s events and you can read today’s free horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Sea Aster – Wexford, 19:15

Jockey Jack Kennedy has given Sea Aster the nod ahead of another George Elliott charge today and we’ve done the same, backing the 6-year-old to rebound with a win at Wexford.

Sea Aster won a 2m 7f Chase at Clonmel in early June and finished second at Wexford a month later over C&D. A 4lb hike offers little to worry about and Sea Aster is taken to perform again.

Opposition could arrive in the shape of Avec Espoir, who won easily and unchallenged when last seen at Tipperrary in early July.

The battle-hardened 11-year-old is up 12lb since last time, which is a considerable wedge, though prices are attractive on online horse racing betting sites and if his high standards are maintained, he should be a contender.

Best Tip #2: Three Dons – Brighton, 16:25

Three Dons carries superb form into today’s Handicap race at Brighton and his sizzling summer surge could continue at pace.

The 5-year-old managed to win on four of his last five starts and is chasing a fourth win on the spin here. His most recent triumph came here at Brighton on June 25th and having proven his mettle on the south coast already, Three Dons can repeat the trick today.

AW Carroll’s charge had Molly Gunn in the saddle for three of those five victories and she returns to the saddle today. There is a 4lb rise to consider, however, that isn’t hefty enough to be much of a factor.

Clear Justice meanwhile, who has won twice in a row at Brighton, is reliable enough on this circuit to be followed with interest.

Best Roughie: Sir Rodneyredblood – Yarmouth, 20:10

Sir Rodneyredblood is a front-running sort who has done practically all of his winning on All-Weather surfaces; however, Yarmouth also tends to suit his style and last week he lost there by just half a length over a distance of 5f.

That was his second runner-up run at Yarmouth on the trot and moving up in trip today could be the tonic he needs to go one better off a big starting price.

Elsewhere, My Boy Jack has been backed with gusto on sports betting apps in the ante-post shuffle. He almost delivered a first win on turf at Leicester last week and he is 2lb better off today.

Foreseeable Future is an eight-time winner who has yet to break his duck for the current season. He has a big run in him however, if he can handle the pace.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Wexford has some tricky turns to navigate and we like our tips to be involved near the front due to the short run in after the final bend. Henry De Bromhead, Gavin Cromwell, Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott and Paul Nolan have all featured prominently at Wexford over the last five seasons.
  • Brighton, which has a steep descent, sharp bends and consistent undulations, can be a challenging enough setting for most types. Trainer Tony Carroll has been the dominant force at Brighton over the last five seasons, posting 48 wins at the track over that period.
  • Yarmouth is considered a fair setting and stronger gallopers can often be the ones to back there as a result. William Haggas, John & Thady Gosden, Michael Bell, George Boughey and Ed Dunlop are the trainers to watch closely at Yarmouth.
