Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 22/07

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

A new racing week begins with a five-part card on Monday and with meetings across the UK and Ireland at Ayr, Beverley, Cartmel, Windsor and Ballinrobe to kick things off, we’re confident that we can deliver some more profit. Yesterday, two of our three selections placed, so let’s hope for a little more fortune here. Keep reading to see today’s free horse racing betting tips.

Best Tip #1:  See Me Through – Ballinrobe, 19:10

See Me Through has been a consistent sort since spring, posting a record of 4-4-1-2-2 from his last previous races ahead of today’s handicap at Ballinrobe. Ross O’Sullivan’s charge won a Killarney maiden over 1m in May and has been runner-up over a slightly longer trip twice since.

He was second at Ballinrobe when last seen in June and he is taken to go one better on his return to the course.

Elsewhere, No Hassle could be another name to size up on horse racing betting sites.

A C&D winner last year, the 7-year-old has solid credentials again today having won at Leopardstown in June and finished third at Ballinrobe at the end of last month. He runs off an unchanged mark today and that only adds to his intrigue.

Best Tip #2: Eternal Sunshine – Ayr, 16:15

Eternal Sunshine is hattrick chasing today and having won her last race at Ayr with room to spare, she looks like the one to back on her return to the same venue today.

The 4-year-old has incurred a 6lb rise, however, that might not be weighty enough to slow this unexposed flier down and having done the business over 6f twice already, a third victory on the spin could be in the offing for Jim Goldie’s horse.

Opposition could arrive in the form of Novello Lad. He shaped up well to finish second on his first two outings of the new season over 6f at Doncaster and Thirsk, before pushing on to win back at Doncaster over the same trip.

Novello Lad looked untroubled last time out and he should be able to bear the 4lb increase to pose a challenge again.

Best Roughie: Lahina Bay – Windsor, 19:20

The Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap at Windsor this evening has an open feel and the Cook and Bridger charge Lahina Bay is among the more attractive prospects at sizable odds in the ante-post running on the best betting apps in the UK.

She showed a steeliness to score at Windsor on July 1st and that was her fourth win in 18 attempts on turf. The 4-year-old moves up in grade and distance today, though she has more than solid each-way claims again, at the very least.

Sixties Chic is another name for shortlists. She claimed first place in each of her last two races, both of which were over 6f at Windsor and Newbury respectively, and she should be right in the mix again as she bids to complete her hattrick.

A 5lb increase gives some food for thought, though Sixties Chic should be thereabouts.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Ballinrobe runs around a right-handed oval and while the back straight needs to be climbed, the final run-in is downhill. Jockeys Dylan Browne McMonagle, Shane Foley, Gar Carroll and Gavin Ryan have all enjoyed previous success at Ballinrobe and all four are in action there today.
  • There is a lengthy downhill drop just before the home bend at Ayr, though horses need to sprint uphill to the finish line along a long run-in that can favour speedier types. Trainer Jim Goldie has been the dominant name at Ayr in flat racing over the last five seasons, posting 69 wins from 562 races there.
  • Windsor is laid out over an unusual figure-of-eight course, though the course is flat and fair for the most part. Look out for trainers Richard Hannon, Andrew Balding, Ralph Beckett, William Haggas and Eve Johnson Houghton on race days at Windsor.
