Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 26/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

There is a bumper line-up to enjoy on Wednesday with meetings at Carlisle, Ffos Las, Kempton, Salisbury, Worcester and Naas combining to fill up a busy race card across the UK and Ireland. Yesterday, we had another profitable venture, landing two winners from three tips thanks to Spring Chorus’s triumph at Beverley and Daring Legend’s win at Newbury, with the latter tipped at a big price of 6/1. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Mr King – Naas, 20:00

Moondharrig was in superb form on all-weather surfaces at Dundalk between January and April (1-1-2-1), however, while he is likely to start as favourite on horse racing betting sites, his inexperience on turf and over this trip could be a problem and preference instead is for Ger Lyons’ Mr King.

Mr King has been a solid performer in competitive handicaps so far this season and he has the potential to score today off an attractive mark.

The Kingman gelding stayed on well to finish fourth over C&D at Naas just last month and if he can reproduce that effort, he should be in with a top chance of getting the job done.

Henry De Bromhead’s Barbapapa, who finished the winter in good shape, is another entry with credentials.

Best Tip #2: Captain Morgs – Worcester, 15:23

Captain Morgs pulled up in consecutive races over hurdles at the end of winter, however, he looked the part on his first appearance of the spring when he won at Aintree in a competitive Class 2 Chase Handicap by six lengths.

He drops down a grade today and down in distance, and that should add to his chances of posting a follow up win at Worcester.

Hometown Boy meanwhile, has been lightly raced over the past few years, though he has been feeling his way back into action with some promise and his run to third at Bangor at the end of May hinted that further progression was possible.

Elsewhere, Kilta could be of interest on his first try over a new trip. He’s already won at Southwell and Cartmel since March.

Best Roughie: Artician – Kempton, 19:40

The Kindred-We Champion Accountability Handicap at Kempton has an open feel and Artician could be the one to back on the best betting apps at a big price.

Simon Dow’s 6-year-old delivered the goods to win at Kempton on June 5th in a Class 5 race over 7f and he has gone up just 3lb in the rankings since. The booking of jockey Hollie Doyle should also be a major positive.

Most expect Phoenix Passion to set the standard, however. The talented 3-year-old completed a hattrick of successive wins with a triumph at Nottingham on June 5th, and all three of his recent back-to-back victories were achieved over 1m.

He’s gone up another 6lb in the weights, however, that might not be enough to slow him down.

Stats and Insights

  • Stamina can be a very useful attribute at Naas due to the galloping nature of the track while the stiff uphill finish can also test a horse’s reserves. Jockeys Colin Keane, Chris Hayes, Seamie Heffernan and Wayne Lordan, who are in action today, are all previous winners at Naas.
  • Worcester has lengthy straights, easy turns to get around and straightforward hurdles to leap over, making it one of the fairest settings in the UK. Jockeys Sean Bown, Sam Twinston-Davies and Harry Cobden have enjoyed plenty of success at Worcester and all three will be at today’s meeting.
  • Kempton is a flat, right-handed course and while it is largely fair for most types, horses with extra zip can excel there. Trainers Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls have both won at least 30 times at Kempton over the last five seasons.
